The Madrid Derby Empty The Madrid Derby

Post by paperbackwriter Wed Apr 11, 2012 3:16 pm

Might very well be the game that decides La Liga.

If Madrid loose or draw tonight, Barcelona got it all in their own hands at the Nou Camp in a little less than 2 weeks.

Remaining games for Madrid:

Atl Madrid away tonight.
Sporting de Gijon home, 14/4.
Barcelona away, 21/4.
Sevilla home, 29/4.
Granada away, 6/5.
Mallorca home, 13/5.

So if they are to drop anymore points this season except against Barca. Then it seems like tonight is the most likely of nights.

Meanwhile, Atl Madrid are desperately chasing an European spot.

Tune in, this might be a cracker!

Right, missed that one from the official fixture list on the RM homepage since it was listed as match day 20 somehow.

Oh crap.

As Che pointed out, if I were Madrid I'd be more worried about the game away to Bilbao with very few matches left for either side to recover in if they slip up, with the pressure of whatever result comes from the Clasico.

I can't see Atletico taking points off of Mourinho's team today, though it should be a highly entertaining match. I see a two goal margin in it for Real Madrid though.

Bilbao have literally nothing to play for, they wont make CL because they are too far from it and they have automatically made EL through getting to the final of the Copa Del Rey

i would be more worried about the supposedly easy teams than the "tough" ones, because we have a tendency of slacking against those teams

tbh bilbao have to seriously pick their game up to get points against madrid... they lost by more than 3 goals the last 3, if not 4 games against them...

You forget that Bielsa will be trying to please his prospective employers.

I think he was talking about Bielsa looking to please Barca by winning against Madrid.

Or is it ? :vagi:

I hold some hope that Atletico can get a result tonight though it is doubtful.

Maybe Bielsa will want to beat Madrid because winning is always better than losing/drawing and nothing to do with impressing any future employers. :I'munoriginal:

Bielsa is going to want to beat just because he can, Bilbao wont have much to play for in the league.

As for Bielsa coaching Madrid,
