"Referee broke the law in awarding second Barcelona penalty against Milan"
To conclude the findings of this
frame-by-frame analysis, the spot-kick should not - by the letter of the
law - have been granted for three main reasons. Firstly and most
importantly, a penalty cannot be awarded if the ball is out of play at
the time of the infraction. Secondly, Kuipers should have halted the
restart to warn, or book, Nesta for time-wasting. The referee had ample
opportunity to do this as Nesta was holding Busquets for almost four
seconds before the corner came in. Thirdly, when the ball is back in
play - and a penalty can be awarded - Puyol is fouling just as much as
Nesta, if not more.
So that ends the argument, once and for all!

I agree, but what's done is done, not going to argue about this anymore. I just find it amazing how Barca fans can't just admit they got lucky but whatevs

He didnt broke any law. Barcelona is out of the law. So that call is OK. The number 1 law in european football is "If Barcelona is in trouble, some help is allowed"

LOL, you guys are crazy, Barcelona were the better team and they won end of story.
Milan players are to blame for not scoring at home.

Yup, it wasn't a good call, fairly obvious but Barcelona were the better team. I do think, however, the argument isn't whether Barsa were better (as they were) but whether the penalty not being called would have affected the outcome and my honest, really honest opinion is that Barsa would have still won.
All in all, it wasn't the best call for a penalty...

It was either the penalty or Barca would have score another goal.

The better team not always win. If the best team need to be helped to past rounds, then Zidane'madrid would have won the champions league titles all years between 2000-2004 if we get some help when teams like Bayern or Juve played defensive tactics against us. Chelsea was the better side in 2009 and they got robbed aswell against Barca. It seems like you need to outplay Barca in shoots, possesion, goals and outplay the referee favours to eliminate them. If not, youre not a deserving winner.....It stinks. really. Arsenal, Milan or Madrid all of them had chances to eliminate Barca, but we will never know what could have happen if the ref makes normal decisions...Doc wrote:Yup, it wasn't a good call, fairly obvious but Barcelona were the better team. How do you know it??? What I saw was Barca having doubts and Milan making dangerous counter attacks. The same thing was said against your Arsenal last year.... "See the boxscore, Arsenal only shot 1 time, they didnt deserve to win". Games have 90 minutes. You have up and downs. When RVP saw the red card, it was the first counter attack in the whole game for Arsenal. What if Barca had another mistake and Arsenal or Milan score the 1-2???? i repeat, you never know. What you know is Barcelona was helped when the game was on the lineRaptorgunner wrote:It was either the penalty or Barca would have score another goal.

Yea I agree with what you saying, games have 90 minutes and anything could happen. Bentdner should have scored and he *bleep* up.
I dont think UEFA has much to do with the ref favoring Barcelona at times it just they refs get excited and make dumb calls.

Giving a second yellow card to one of the best players it shows the refs had no respect for RVP and with out hesitation gave him a card at one of the biggest stages in football.
I wonder if that had been any other big name player he would have gotten the second yellow car?

wow, when we complained about the pitch and 2 penalties not given in the first leg everyone agreed that we were butthurt/crybabies yet we didn't complain half as much as milan have and once again its our fault. Ah the jealousy of these fans is lovely

I’m pretty sure the ref broke the rule when he didn’t ward Sanchez that penalty in the first leg but, well…. I don’t have pictures to prove my claim right now…..so sad

Sanchez took a dive worthy of Biscuits, thats why he didnt get sh1t. He kicked the ball so far ahead before seeking Abbiati, that even if he got passed him, he would have to climb the stands at the San Siro to get that ball back. No penalty.

Seeking? Dive?
Not a penalty according to you maybe, but many other referees have given such penalties...
