Podolski's case
If he really signs for Arsenal would he remain undisputed goallegacy's god?
He is a god for many reasons but most important ones:
1. He is in a team no one supports here so to everyone he is neutral
2. He stayed loyal to his poor team FC Cologne and helped them to avoid relegation year after year.
3. He owns in Bundesliga and NT.
4. He looks like one determined stud
Reasons 1. and 2. would no longer exist. The question is whether he'll retain his status after the switch to Arsenal?

Re: Podolski's case
You kidding? Even Viva said he'd convert to Arsenal if Podolski moved to the Emirates.
Depending on his performances, I'm pretty damn sure his God status would be elevated, although he wouldn't be a fair God playing for such a good team
It was much easier to sympathise when he was in the village club, but he'd still get plenty of love due to the massive number of Arsenal fans and general Podolski lovers here.

Re: Podolski's case
As long as Podolski excels for the German NT, he'll keep that status.

Podolski is god. He will always be god. If he doesn't tear up the EPL, it will be because Arsenal failed him.

all he has to do is stay healthy. but that's an EXTREMELY difficult thing to do at Arsenal

Podolski has never been injury prone which is a huge plus. The only thing that worries me is that culture shock, since he's never played abroad, but I guess that's what Mertesacker and Eisfeld are for.
German and English cultures aren't that far apart, am I right?

Lived and worked in England for two and a half years just recently. It's mostly the same, except that English food is horrible for the most part and a bit of racism is totally accepted, and there's good stand-up comedy, yet people you commonly encounter are less funny.
Other than that it's pretty much the same, he'll do fine. In terms of day-to-day behaviour and attitude the English are probably closer to the Germans than the Swiss or Austrians.

Re: Podolski's case
As a response to the Original post:
I am a fan of FC Koln.
He has helped Koln avoid relegation, yes, but even without him in 08/09 they easily sat in mid table, and in 09/10 he was great, but barely scored yet they still avoided it. So yea, hes a big part, but they would still avoid relegation without him in my opinion.
I still have my doubts over this. Firstly, the fact that theyre saying 13 million, when Koln rejected 23 million last season, that just doesnt make sense to me. And secondly, I just hope he stays at Koln or goes to Juve, so he stays at one of the two clubs I support lol. I understand him going to a bigclub to look for the recognition of being among the elite players in the world like he does, but I just hope he stays in Koln or if he does leave, go to Juve. He would be perfect for Juve too, that one big star weve been looking for that we can drop back on when needed.

Re: Podolski's case
If you have a player that wants out then you're not really in a position to be demmanding high prices, especially when it seems the only other clubs willing to offer now are Anzhi and Spartak Moscow. Podolski chose Arsenal over those two, so it leaves Koln very little room to negotiate.
It's similar to the Cesc saga in the summer. He's easily worth £40mil to £50mil but because he only wanted to go to one club we couldn't start any bidding wars. We had to eventually sell for a somewhat reduced price (not that £35mil is bad, really...).

Re: Podolski's case
Last season Köln were confident, they thought they'd improve and were sure Podolski would sign an extension, that's why they rejected the larger offer. Now he wants out, he doesn't get along all too well with Solbakken and his contract runs out next season.
They're in no position to make demands.
