How should Chelsea rebuild their team?

Some nice ideas, but I would add Torres to the scrap heap. Also, get a rightback of some kind.

I dont think they need Hamsik or Sneijder, Modric more so. Someone to pull strings from deep, add Joao Moutinho to the list.

I'm not sure Modric would move to Chelsea since Spurs will most likely finisher higher.

What happened to Lukaku ??

Way too young and way too green. You dont throw him in at the deep end and expect me to lead the way in midfield.

He needs more chances, but lets no go too far.

Hes 19 now. He should be ready next year to start playing first team football, maybe not to be the midfield general but he should play a big part (if his loan goes well this season and he get used to the premier league)

If not next year he should be their main midfielder the year after

Lolz, you guys. Error is the closest and even he got a few things wrong, no way should Courtois be a backup, chalobah is too young for the first team, Sturridge should be a CF, Mata is going to be our starting AM not a winger and Lukaku should be loaned to a EPL club.

Here is what I would do, this is taken from my thread in the chelsea section. Bare in mind I wrote this with the assumption Guardiola takes over.

Firstly, the players who should go, Hilario, Kalou, Bosingwa, benayoun, Malouda and Drogba.
This gives us a few spots to fill and also breaks apart the old guard, why Drogba you may ask? Sturridge should move to CF and he can only do that if Drogba leaves.

Players to join, lavezzi/Hazard/Goetze/Robben/Farfan/A.Johnson/Kagawa/Lucas, Sahin/Benaga/Thiago/Moutinho*, Isla/montoya/other RB.
*depending on the manager. These all all areas where we need improvement.

Promote, De Bruyne, Bertrand/PVA, Walker/Taylor for backup GK, Piazon**
**do what Pep has done with Barca B players and play him in both reserves and first team.

Loan out, McEachran, Bertrand/PVA, Lukaku, Kakuta, Lalkovic, Kalas and Courtois.
The first three and last two to EPL clubs.

With the likes of Piazon, Walker and one more incase of injuries. Personally, I don't think Cole deserves a starting spot anymore, I think given a year of being number 1 LB either PVA or Bertrand would be good enough to replace him.

On Sahin, I honestly believe with the way he has been treated this year he would be open to a move away.

Shouldnt we know who the manager is first though? I imagine either Abromovich will get a top manager who will want to have all the decision making, or someone good enough but will listen to Abromovich's wishes as well.... then we will know which style and hence what players should come in for that style etc...

Sturridge is not a good enough winger and even starter for Chelsea, hes finishing and final ball is a joke!
