I certainly dont see why Neuer is better than Casillas now. Surely he had a better season with Schalke but i dont see how he is playing above Casillas level now.

Neuer lately has been making more errors than a virgin attempting his first home run ffs

I rate buffon and iker at the same level. Buffon was/is the most consistent one, while Iker made the most spectacular defences.

The rest dont come close.

i am sorry but iker was definitely better than buffon two years ago

and he is better than neuer this season ,neuer has made one error too many in big games

Actually this thread wasn't a "which GK is better than the other" (we had that numerous times before...), but just raw numbers for the season so far. Defense != GK alone after all. ^^

No modern GK has has a better career than Iker and Iker's career isn't even over.....

Anyway RWO is right, there are usually 4 guys in front of the Keeper that deserve recognition ^^

I bet no one can call(other than RWO ,Viva and Babun) the 4 a the back for gladbach without doing research

Only Ter Stegen has had a better season than Casillas so far IMO (and that's debateable)

Casillas has already pulled alot of wonder saves and still haven't made any error

I see this Neuer> Casillas argument.....then I see the same people come back to posit this Buffon> Casillas argument and it's like.............pick one.

Casillas was once essentially the Neuuer to Buffon's Casillas.....playing behind a crap,WOAT defence and carrying Real Madrid on his shoulders.

Now Casillas is there where Buffon was before and people want completely reverse their argument.It's funny.

He had 1 bad season in there....I'll admit as much....bad by his standards.

That being said, the lad does indeed have a bright future ahead of him.

OT: Sadly we will not see Casillas being praised for his brilliance this season as obviously one group will be conveniently ignoring all the times he saved Madrid's somewhat inconsistent backline along with the fact that he has produced countless clean-sheets, along with the fact that he is playing for a club where the pressure is certainly higher than Monchengladbach and even Bayern.

Yet we will continue to hear on how brlliant Neuer was last season while ignoring all his blunders with Schalke and his countless blunders with Bayern this season.

Then why isn't Handanovic being mentioned? Why isn't Abbiati of last year being mentioned? What about Buffon this season?
