“The communication has come directly from Ivan Gazidis,” an Arsenal source told Goal.com. “He flatly refuses to sell him at any price. He has told Van Persie, ‘you are going nowhere and can see out your contract’.

“Arsenal are not stupid. If he sees out his contract he will be 30. Real Madrid and Barcelona are not going to recruit him at 30.

“Van Persie feels powerless and anxious. There is no way any club will pay £40m for him this summer, because of his age. This makes him a £20m player and Arsenal don’t need to sell him for that.”

He doesn't deserve to be manhandled like this. He's essentially carried us to 4th place with Henry's help and we deject him instead of encouraging him? I get that we want to make it clear that we need him but it should be more of a message that we're ambitious and are going to change and win trophies like he's always wanted rather than letting him know he's going down with a sinking ship.

I dont really believe anything Goal.com writes, if RVP wants to leave there is no reason to hold him, just like Cesc and Na$ri did.

I am sure RVP will stay if he is promised new signing that can help him out win.

Buy Gotez and Podolski and he will stay.

If we get Podolski I am sure Gotze would come also. If you look at the standing Koln are almost in relegation zone and I am sure Podolski is packing is luggage and is on his way to Arsenal if Wenger is serious about buying him.

Just think of the players would want come and play along side

I wasn't doubting whether Gotze would want to come or not, but rather the price tag and Wenger's willingness to dish out 30 million on him rather than 3 million on a lesser known lesser talented player.

If AFC do not show any ambition to win he will be gone. If we sell Cesc at a cut-rate price we will sell RVP. There will be plenty of teams willing to pay for him.

Not sure that getting Arshavin out on sale or loan right now suits Arsenal.

Sell in summer me thinks.

HOWEVER, I remain vastly disappointed that Arshavin hasn't played in the no.10 role for the club, because, you watch him there for Russia or for Zenit before, and he is so effective.
