Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Zenit St Petersburg are reviving a bid for Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin.
Zenit are stepping up their interest in Arsenal forward Arshavin after their star player was ruled out for eight months.
Portugal playmaker Danny Miguel tore his right anterior cruciate ligament at Zenit’s training camp in Italy - the second time he has suffered the injury.
The Russian champions were already keen on their former player Arshavin, 30, and now seem unlikely to want to wait until the summer to re-sign him.

So since the Russian window is still open, could they buy Arshavin with a player exchange deal?

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Gylfi Sigurdsson does not want to leave Hoffenheim this winter despite interest from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.
Hoffenheim, mindful of the interest in the Icelandic star following his impressive start to life at the club, have valued him at around £12m - double what they paid for him in the summer when he joined from Reading.
Sigurdsson has been excellent for Hoffenheim this season, scoring four goals, and scouts from across Europe have watched him in action. United and Arsenal are both interested in the midfielder, while Atletico Madrid have also monitored him this season.
The exciting prospect scored twice for Iceland Under 21s in October and Manchester United scouts were in attendance to see his performance. Sir Alex Ferguson is building for the future at Old Trafford and wants to leave a lasting legacy for when he does exit the club - with Sigurdsson one of his targets.
Reading agreed to let him leave for £6m in the summer, with Sigurdsson scoring 16 in 38 games for the Championship side. He has a contract at Hoffenheim until 2014 but that has not put off United or Arsenal.

Barcelona are ready to tempt Arsenal into parting with Robin van Persie by offering a host of their best youngsters.
El Mundo Deportivo says Isaac Cuenca, Cristian Tello and Jonathan dos Santos are all interesting Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Barca plan to use that interest to drive down Wenger's asking price for Van Persie.

Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin favours a return to Zenit St Petersburg.
The 30-year-old is a target for another Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala, and Arsenal are keen to get a deal done before the transfer window closes on February 24.
But Arshavin wants to hang on a few more months and seal a switch to Zenit, says the Daily Mail.

Liverpool are rivaling Arsenal for FC Cologne star Lukas Podolski.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to sign the Germany international, whose contract has less than 18 months to run.
However, Liverpool have made enquiries about Podolski's situation this week.
Aware of Liverpool's new approach, Cologne have moved to offer Podolski a new four-year deal worth €5 million-a-season. But for now, Podolski hasn't decided to stick or twist.

Schalke striker Jefferson Farfan is eyeing a Bosman move to the Premier League.
Arsenal and Chelsea hope to land him on a free transfer in the summer, according to reports in his native Peru.
Trome says the Premier League pair are highly interested in the 27-year-old attacker, who is out of contract at the Bundesliga club in the summer.

Riccardo Montolivo is said to be holding out for a move to the Premier League.
The Fiorentina midfielder will not be signing a new contract at the club and has told them he will leave when it expires at the end of the season. His contract situation has sparked the interest of both Manchester United and Arsenal and the Premier League pair would be able to sign him for nothing - bar the signing-on fee - in the summer.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Arsenal are watching Danny Sturridge's situation at Chelsea.
Dad Michael has been critical of Chelsea's use of the striker as a winger.
Word of Sturridge’s discontent is starting to spread and Arsenal are reportedly planning a shock move for the England man, says the Daily Star.
Speaking to the Voice newspaper, Sturridge senior, who was once signed by England’s 1966 World Cup winning boss Sir Alf Ramsey when he was in charge at Birmingham, added: “In terms of potential, we have to see him play in that central striker position to see how far he can go in the game.
“He can actually show you a lot more. “I think with the experience (he gains) and playing regularly in the Premier League, you are going to see a better player because he will just get stronger.”

Real Madrid plan to open the bidding for Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie.
The Daily Mail says Real Madrid will make an offer for Van Persie in the summer as they join the £30million race for the Arsenal striker.
Manchester City and Barcelona are also keen on the Dutchman, 28, who has 16 months left on his Arsenal contract and is yet to commit to another deal.
Madrid will also look to put Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain in as part of the deal. Higuain, 24, is a target for Chelsea but has been long admired by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Andrey Arshavin's agent insists there is no offer on the table for the Arsenal playmaker who is reportedly on his way back to his homeland with either Anzhi Makhachkala or former club Zenit St Petersburg.
However, despite the Russian transfer window still being open, agent Phil Smith fully expects his client to see out the remainder of the campaign at Emirates Stadium.
"Officially there wasn't an approach and Arshavin doesn't have an offer either," Smith told Sovetsky Sport.
"The club have said they want to keep Arshavin and the player has said he wanted to stay.
"So I think it's not a topic. It's true the Russian transfer window is still open, but it's closed in Europe.
"It's not usual for club to sell their players at this time."

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Arsenal will have competition from a host of European clubs if they firm up their interest in Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.
Frenchman Arsene Wenger is well aware of the striker's impressive record in Ligue 1, where he has scored 15 goals in 21 games.
But Napoli - who already boast one of the best frontlines in Europe - and fellow Serie A side Palermo have also taken note of the 25-year-old.
Ambitious Torino, currently third in Italy's second tier, have even sent a representative to Montpellier to try to broker a deal, according to Italian paper TuttoSport, but the French club will not entertain offers until the end of the season.
The French club, currently second in the league behind PSG thanks largely to Giroud's ruthlessness in front of goal, value their man at around £15m and are unlikely to listen to offers below that, especially if they maintain their form and qualify for the Champions League.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Arsenal will have to act fast if they want to sign Brazilian teenage star Casemiro after Galatasaray and Fiorentina entered the race for the talented midfielder.
Casemiro is rated one of the best young talents in South America and has been earning rave reviews for his club side Sao Paulo.
The 19-year-old has already made his breakthrough into the Brazil senior squad and would cost in the region of £15m.
Arsene Wenger is known to be keen but he will need to move quickly after reports in Turkish daily newspaper Fanatik reported that both Galatasaray and Fiorentina are making moves to sign him.
Galatasaray are believed to have contacted Sao Paulo over his availability, but it remains to be seen if Casemiro will choose to make a move to Turkey.

Except then he will realize that the reason Henry left was so that he might be able to win more trophy's.
So if Henry can leave so that he can win more trophy's.
Then come back when his physical ability has started to deteriorate and he is average not god. Still being recognized as a Legend.
As much as I hate it, I just do not see RVP staying if he has a chance to go somewhere and actually win!. There is a huge difference between winning and fighting for top 4.
Besides, If it was ok for Henry. Must be ok for everyone!

No one can blame him if he leaves, but I hate hearing rumours about RVP.
We are truly one or 2 player away from wining the EPL and maybe the CL. If we can get Hazard and Podolsiki I am sure RVP will stay.
