Arsenal are chasing Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo.

Montolivo is off contract in June and courting interest from Italy at home and abroad.

Scouts watched the midfielder, 27, in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Genoa. The Gunners face competition from Inter Milan and Juventus.

No less than five major clubs are circling Valencia for striker Roberto Soldado.

Soldado's sensational form this season has raised his profile across Europe.

The Daily Star says Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa from England, plus Germany's Bayern Munich, are all in contact with Valencia about Soldado's availability.

Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda has put transfer talks on hold.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in the Morocco international.

But he told L'Equipe: "Right now I only want to finish the season well. There are nine games left and the team face major battles, so I do not want to talk about next season.

"Bids from other clubs disturb me a bit, but I prefer to stay out of it and just stay focused on my work in the field."

Koln board members informed of Podolski's move to Arsenal

Koln chairman Werner Wolf has reportedly informed the club's board members that star forward Lukas Podolski will join Arsenal at the end of the season.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and the Gunners are confident of finalising the proposed €12.9 million transfer before the end of the month.

Wolf has now confirmed the details of Podolski's summer switch to his colleagues, according to Express.

TBH his family are still in france, his kids have only just been enrolled to start school in the north east for the next school year starting in Sep.

Considering the manner which he departed PSG, basically going on strike and refusing to play or train with them. I cant see PSG wanting him back or him wanting to return.

I recall Montpellier's chairman, being quite the eccentric character, had previously stated that they would only sell Giroud for something like £40mil. Perhaps newpapers are just bringing that back up again.

In any case, there's no need for him if van Persie stays and Podolski signs. Similarly, there isn't a need for M'Vila, either, because we have Song and Coquelin and even if you play Song in a different midfield role we still have five or six other midfielders.
