Liverpool vs Tottenham | 6th Feb | 20.00 GMT|
vs
Venue - Anfield.
Team news-
Spurs - Spurs have slight injury problems where they have quite a few players in doubt.
1. Adebayor, and Walker are expected to play
2. Defoe, Lennon and VDV are major doubts.
3. Gallas, Jenas and Huddlestone miss out.
4. Their LB {ABE} could be banned by the FA. So Rose could feature at LB.
Liverpool
1. Suarez is BACK.
2. Lucas is the only guy on the treatment table.
3. Gerrard and Downing could return after being rested in 3-0 win at Wolves.
Spurs won 4-0 when these two side met at WHL last year, Skrtel and Adam were sent off. Worst game of the season IMO. Hate this team so baaad. Would love a win here, considering Chelsea are playing United.

I was waiting for you to create this thread Nishank. This game is so crucial to our top 4 challenge. We cannot let this slip, we are 11 points behind Spurs. It's at home, morale is high, we have momentum. Only 15 league matches left. we need to get closer to Spurs as the season goes for its final stretch. Hopefully Suarez is itching to play.
I wonder what line-up Kenny go with now that we have Suarez back. Kuyt, Bellamy, and Carroll have all been playing well lately, and we can't afford to play with only two midfielders against them.

Think Bellamy will be the one dropped but will feature. We need to keep him fit for the Carling Cup final and he's said himself he can't play 2 games in a week.
Any win will be massive for our top 4 especially as Chelsea may drop points against United. Could see Suarez having a storming game.
I'd go with:
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Hendo Spearing
Kuyt Stevie Suarez
Carroll
Wouldn't be surprised if Kelly features atleast twice this month [including this game] but I'd pick Glen over him for this one.
If Carroll can put a shift like he did with United/Wolves, Gerrard and Suarez are going to dominate the game.

------------Reina------------
Glen-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
---Spearing-Henderson---
Bellamy--Gerrard--Suarez
-----------Carroll-----------
This is our best line-up (without Lucas) and I would like this team to start against Spurs.

Great thread as usual Nishank. Keep it up as we all appreciate your contribution.
Tottenham seems to be a team we just cannot seem to get a hold of winning whether it was with Rafa, or Bodgson or Dalglish.
Personally, I would go on a counter-attacking mentality in this game as facing Tottenham in their attacking form would be risky.
My formation: 4-2-3-1
--Doni--
Kelly-Skrtel-Agger-Jose
Spearing-Hendo
Suarez-Gerrard-Bellamy
Carroll
Why Kelly? Johnson is clearly out of confidence in the past few games as he isn't offering his usual scintillating attacking threat while his defense is really sketchy. Mr. Big game performer Kelly has the size, strength and pace of Bale and can hold him off while at the same time giving us his displays of his lung-bursting runs down the flank and solid link-up play.
I don't want Adam playing as for all his moments of brilliance you have all those moments of wanting to punch his bucktooth even wider.
Therefore Spearo and Henderson can provide the dual pivot of distribution and steel to anchor the midfield while Bellers, Gerrard and Suarez on the '3' of the formation with Suarez providing more of an SS role.
Carroll or Kuyt?
Kuyt seems to have begun his Kuyt goal spurts stage again yet we must keep faith in Carroll with his increasingly impressive general play (more than Kuyt) and ability to bully defenders when he is in the mood. Lest we not forget his aerial ability.
Kuyt is the big game player and can double up on wingers but i'd bring him in later.
I personally don't see Gerrard starting out of precaution and Suarez due to match fitness.
Downing? I predict him starting over Bellers with the latter coming in late for impact.

"He's been training a couple of weeks now an and he's stayed pretty fit, so it is fantastic for us to have him available," Dalglish added.
"There is a lot to be taken into consideration: the fact he's not played for over a month and, more importantly, how well the other players have done in his absence." "He's been training a couple of weeks now an and he's stayed pretty fit, so it is fantastic for us to have him available," Dalglish added.
Looks like Suarez could be on the bench.

What a big game... Spurs are a great team, don't know what will happen. Three points would be massive.

That does seems to be the case. I honestly think it might be the smart move at this point in time. There is no doubting Suarez's ability and his contribution to the team in his time here. However, we have had several strong showings with the current squad, including improving performances by Carroll and Kuyt. Seeing as our ability to control the midfield has rested on a three-man midfield, I have a hard time seeing Kenny ditching that setup in favor of adding another striker. Since Kenny has never (to my knowledge) deployed Suarez as a wide forward or winger, that rules out pulling Downing or Kuyt. Therefore, I predict we will see an unchanged lineup other than Gerrard's inclusion for Adam or Hendo. In other words, this:
----------------Reina----------------
----Glen-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique--
-------------Spearing-------------
Kuyt--Gerrard--Adam--Bellamy
--------------Carroll----------------
We need to treat this match just as the ones against both Manchester clubs. Tottenham are a dangerous team, and if any team in the league has our number, it's them. Given some of their injury concerns, this might not be a bad time to be facing them. All in all, this is a Massive game. Three points would be a welcome addition to our tally. However, you can't say a draw would be a horrible result.

Re: Liverpool vs Tottenham | 6th Feb | 20.00 GMT|
I'm freaking out big time about this game as well....So much is on the line.
3) Tottenham - 23 gp...49 pts
4) Chelsea - 24gp...43 pts
5) Newcastle - 24 gp...42 pts
6) Arsenal - 24 gp...40 pts
7) Liverpool - 23 gp...38 pts
A win takes us to 6th....ONLY 2 points behind 4th. Spurs are the team that scares me the most, mainly because of our horrid record against them in recent seasons. A draw will not be the end of the world but with our next two games vs. Arsenal and ManU this game can either make or break our chances for 4th spot.
Unlike you guys, for me if Suarez is match fit, I hope he starts. I'm positive he'll be itching to play.

Kuyt also
revealed he has been
sharing texts with Rafael
van der Vaart, who says he
will be fine for tonight's
game at Anfield.
Loads of fog around Anfield, chances
of game being called off, hope not!
