Has Barcelona possession style era ended?
They are being challenged by most teams, Milan has put the best performance at the San Siro followed by Madrid in Camp Nou and Velencia, do you think Barcelona will remain at top of the world?
Has Barcelona declined or have other teams risen to the challenge, discuss.

Re: Has Barcelona possession style era ended?
Teams know how to play them, what era is over? They have played the same way for 20+ years ffs. Whether they win or lose it wont matter tbh. They lack width which is their main problem atm, theri fuill backs are soo high up which is why they are so susceptable to counters atm.
They are favourites for the CL but not overly so, Madrid, Barca and Milan could have a go at them.

Re: Has Barcelona possession style era ended?
Not really they rely heavily on Iniesta and Xavi with Messi in attack, if one of those cogs are out the wheel tends to slow a little.
Iniesta being injured has hurt the whole motion of Barcelona.
They do have some wonderful young kids coming through though, like Thiago but they need more time to adapt to produce the performances and the importance of the likes of Xavi and Iniesta especially.
If the whole team is fit and healthy then they usually do their whole seek and destroy game.

Why are you so butthurt by a simple comment that Milan played better? They did play better and if the referee was any good, they would have won (referee was bad to both sides). and to be honest Madrid did play good and was unlucky to come out with a draw but to see but we all know that Pepe and Lass should have gotten red early in the match so please.

They just need Xavi, Iniesta and Messi playing.
Also they need to keep it simple instead of using complex formations to fit in Fabregas.

Are you on drugs? You tied with the last touch of the ball in the game. And now your on the ref thing too, Jesus Christ. I guess anyone who doesn't beat Barcelona this year has the refs to blame.
I have not heard one AC Milan fan even mention the ref's performance from that game or use it as a crutch.
The fact was that you were very fortunate to tie, below are the match statistics. Don't just make things up.
Goals scored 2-2
Attempts on target 7-3
Attempts off target 10-2
Corners 11-2
Fouls committed 10-11
Yellow cards 3-2
Red cards 0-0

Why are you guys fighting at finding out who was best at not beating barca?

ignoring the fact that they currently have 11/12 fit outfield players for 10 positions on a 2 games per week schedule

Ironic given that Juve are now bossing with a possession based team...

Re: Has Barcelona possession style era ended?
Bro, Barca possesion style is really the Spanish style and always has been. Today' Barca are the perfection of the said style.
"Keep the ball longer and you create more opportunities to win"
It's sort of the the same in Latin America.
Anyway, it will never end, IMO.
