Maths- Gym for Brainiacs
If you're young and potent you wouldn't bother training your brains with content made for pensioners like Dr. Kawashimas nintendo game and other extremly softcore stuff Here, you'll be able to train your brain like you do with muscles, in power mode. Interesting fact, people who keep their brain fit rarely get alzheimer or other brain detoriation deceases. In other words, brain training is worth it Last but not least, it's always helpful to be smarter than the one next to you
Ali's question:
The position of a particle along a straight line at any time (t) s is given in meters by x(t) = 3t 3 − t 2 + 7t − 1. Find the acceleration of the particle when t = 2s.
1. deriviate x'(t)=9t²-2t+7
2. deriviate x''(t)=18t-2
2. deriviate is a function which describes the acceleration at any given point t For t=2s
x''(2)=18*2-2=34 (m/s²)
I'm under flu so take the answer with caution, maybe I'm right

Re: Maths- Gym for Brainiacs
You actually only do the derivative once, so it's
9t²-2t+7
9(4)-2(2)+7
36-4+7
39
9t²-2t+7
9(4)-2(2)+7
36-4+7
39

Re: Maths- Gym for Brainiacs
The flu got me I made a mistake 3*3 isn't 6 but 9 ( I corrected the answer in OP). You're wrong boy. If you do it once, you'll get the velocity You have to do it two timesAli"The Superman"8775 wrote:You actually only do the derivative once, so it's
9t²-2t+7
9(4)-2(2)+7
36-4+7

dx(t) /dt= v(t)
dv(t)/dt= a(t)
If you deriviate one time only, the unit m/s² is impossible to get mathematically
I'm no physicist though. I just imagine the velocity as a function which describes the change of position related to time and acceleration as a function which describes the changes in velocity related to time

You are right Babun
Find the median of the data points given below.
4, 7, 4, 2, 8, 5, 8, 1, 0, 5, 9
This one is a statistics question.

6th term so it must be 5
Been 6 years since i last studied Statistics
Babun's question was pretty easy though
edit:i am not sure of my answer.

This one is a statistics question.
I'm lazy to type, here the stuff from wikipedia which is right for onceFor an odd number of values
As an example, we will calculate the sample median for the following set of observations: 1, 5, 2, 8, 7.
Start by sorting the values: 1, 2, 5, 7, 8.
In this case, the median is 5 since it is the middle observation in the ordered list.
The median is the ((n + 1)/2)th item, where n is the number of values. For example, for the list {1, 2, 5, 7, 8}, we have n = 5, so the median is the ((5 + 1)/2)th item.
median = (6/2)th item
median = 3rd item
median = 5
The answer should be obvious if you follow the example Learn to think yourself my friend= maths

It can be used for questions that you don't know how to answer or as a thread for you to test your knowledge

That question you asked is kindergarten material.I could answer it despite not studying that subject for more than 6 years
Come up with something better and which would test people's brain

A toad with very sticky extremities falls down a 10 meter well. Each day, it climbs two meters up, at night when it falls asleep it slids down by 1 meter. How long will the toad need to get out of the well?
Answer and justify why

Re: Maths- Gym for Brainiacs
I was joking man ..lol
I think i am going to be exposed here.
It climbs 2 mts in the day and falls down 1 mt in the night which means in total it climbs 1 mt every day so that makes it 10 days to get out of the well. ?Just gave an answer logically.
I am probably 90 % wrong..You've put me in a spot babun

Your answer isn't logicel hence 100% wrong Also, being scarred is the wrong approachSurag wrote:I was joking man ..lol

it will climb out in the 9th day , wont slide back and take it to the 10th because its already out
this must be a very smart kindergarten because this is a very common question which is asked in the entrance exam i am going to take in May( Common Law Admission Test)

Re: Maths- Gym for Brainiacs
Next question:
Franchise , alexjanosik and friends from Farca section meet RM section in a goallegacy brawl
Franchise says to Jack Daniels: Come over to us and we'll overwelm them with doubled number of posters.
Jack Daniles answers to Franchise: Come over to our side, this way each side will have equal number of posters. The discussion will be active and balanced=> what the forum needs
The question, how many posters participate in the GL brawl from Farca and Real Madrid section?
P.S. junior high level
Again, answer and justify why
