Chelsea's CB pairing?
Re: David Luiz
I very much doubt it too, David Luiz has shown no indication that he wants to leave, the club talk about him like he is a future leader of the club and he is our most talented CB.

Re: David Luiz
If the manager wants rid of you or decides you're not up to the part for where he wants to take the team, you'll be out whether you originally wanted to be or not. Not saying it's necessarily true given the source, but I could certainly see a scenario in which Luiz wouldn't feature much in the side given Mourinho's nature of going with strong, reliable, consistent defensive players - which Luiz categorically is not, regardless of position. And if he's not going to be a regular, why stay?

Re: David Luiz
I think If mourinho actually tried, he could make Luiz a lot more reliable, remember what RDM did to Luiz last season? I think Mourinho could do the same.
Then Luiz would be one of the top CB's in the world.

Re: David Luiz
Yea but this is the thing. Mourinho doesn't do projects. Why waste time trying to breed someone into a new position when you can just go out and blow £25m on someone already the finished product who's capable of playing there immediately? This is how he's done things his entire career and the idea that he's going to change now is pure fantasy for me.

Re: David Luiz
And this finish product is? Short of Hummels or TS, I doubt there is anyone who would be straight away better than what DL4 could be.
He wouldn't need to work much either, RDM did it in a few months. Mourinho could do it in pre season, I bet.

Re: David Luiz
Do to Luiz in 3 preseason games what other managers were unable to do in 3 years. Okay

Luiz has become a key part of the Chelsea team and he is one of the most loved characters right now. Also, Mou will have a defensive strategy and Luiz can excel in that with a little bit of discipline. He has shown that he can do it, its something like the Ramos situation in Madrid.

Chelsea and Brazil defender David Luiz to undergo surgery for broken nose:

Another Chelsea player in a facemask then!!
Becoming something of a club tradition now

"Yes, my nose is broken, but that's part of the game.
"Now I'll have to wait until the end of the competition and undergo surgery to fix it."

Schurrle also wore one.
I hope he doesn't have to wear it for long.

Re: David Luiz
If these quotes are true, combined with the ones last week regarding PSG, I'd say they sound like the words of someone who's looking for a move.

No but he wouldn't seem so cheerful when he talks about Chelsea.

Where has he ever seemed cheerful talking about anything? Most of his interviews in English are monotone at best.

Which is the likeliest reason it won't happen, not because the player himself wouldn't switch Chelsea for Barcelona in a heartbeat as you seem to think.

God I hope he stays, and none of these rumors are true, I think he really brings unity to the chelsea dressing room.

I don't know where this massive "next captain" movement has come from. He has none of the qualities needed to be captain.

He does too, He is a motivator, talks on the field, has great people skills which helps the dressing room, tries to lead by example and even John Terry thinks he makes a great captain.
