Museo Reina Sofia is great, eat at Bazaar and Fast Good, if you are into designer shopping check out Isolee and Gallery.

Also Vincon is a sweet store you will get lost in for hours. Hotel Puerta America is great, go have a drink at the rooftop bar.

Go out at night in Chueca, it used to be the gay area but it's really just the popular area for young people straight and gay to go out and party now.

I'm actually really glad you mentioned the palace, I didn't know if it would be something you'd be into or not. I really enjoyed it when I went, definitely worth it.

There are definitely spots that might cause you slight concern but they are nowhere near you and I doubt you'll ever come close (you're in a great area).

Stay out of centro (once you get accustomed to the city and have seen the little it has to offer) just because it's a complete tourist trap and full of mediocre food and tourists.

Lavapies is also another new up and coming trendyish area worth spending some time in.

Also if you get a chance the high speed train to Barcelona is only three hours. You can take a piss on the Nou camp, something I recommend to everyone. Wink

Bahahaha.

I have plans to go spend a weekend in Barca... go to Pacha over there.

I hear Lavapies is very trendy but also quite dangerous. Ive been there the past 2 nights and Ive gotten approached by prostitutes and drug deals mulitples times lol. I went to this place called the "squatters" bar or something... apparently its all the alternative artsy people of madrid running an underground scene... idk it was pretty intense lol

Im glad im in a good area tho cheers

Thanks again mate your info is really helpful

It is kind of like a zoo.....but they actually recreate the natural ecosystems for the animals.

Your reconnaissance is spot on. Kapital is great, as is Pacha.

Check out Gabana 1800 as well, you'll see footballers from time to time

I heard youre supposed to order a mohito or some drink and then they bring out lots of tapas to you?

Im looking for a good tapas experience cause last time i went to a taperia i think it was a tourist trap
