argentina is the second italy
whenever I watch argentina in world cup I recognize italian names, lots of them.maradona, militto and so on are italian names.one point is clear italy and argentine plays very different, defensive and attacking gurus.are their ancestors all italians and if so how much?? I may support them, di maria and higgy play for argentina.

haha that's so clever. I remember france was playing south africa I was in a bar. People would ask who is playing I would say france vs SA. Then they would be like "which is france?" with a weird expression lol.pdolson wrote:yes and i support france becomes i love african football

Re: argentina is the second italy
Argentina is traditionally a much less atacking nation that a lot of people think we are. Actually if you ever watch our league many matches are a contest about which team can more violently scare the attackers off. Uruguay is even worse.
I always thought that the misconception comes from the fact that we are a South American team and people tend to think southamerica = Brazil. But us, Uruguay and Paraguay usually play very rough. It's just that argentina does it less at National team level and more at League level.

Hamtaro is a nickname for mascherano?
The funny thing is that both Masch and Tevez are greatly respected and loved players here. Much more even so that their most tactically and technically proficient national team partners. Just got to show the devotion that exist here towards workhorse players.

Messi is a polarizing player, just like Riquelme used to be. Some people hate him some love him. Higuain is not very rated, most people were very surprised to see him succed at madrid. Tevez used to be all loved, now some people are starting to dislike him, because of his sometimes clumsy football. Most people i've met rate Aguero but don't consider him a must for the national team. A while ago he used to be very doubted though.
i don't think there is a most loved player. Mostly because a majority of Argentines care much more about the argentine league than they do about national team or other leagues. So people tend to favour those that played in their clubs.
I could be Macherano perhaps. Zanetti and Cambiasso are considered good but not as good as they are considered outside of the country. Happens with a lot of players. People in Argentina don't rate them as high as foreigners do. Which is the opposite of what happened sometime ago.
Pastore is a player that is massivelly rated locally and not as much internationally. People rate him very highly here.

Argentina isn't only Italian, Spaniards and natives either. There's a lot immigrantion from other countries. The bordering countries around us (Bolivia, Peru and Paraguay) have a pretty big amount of immigrants and descendants of immigrants living here.
Even if you consider non-natives only those that are of european families you also have people with French surames, and Polish, German, Russian Jewish. In a lesser degree you find people from everwhere: I've met people with Scottish, Portuguese, Austrian, Ucranian roots. And I imagine there should be a more from other countries as well.
Also there has lately been quite a large amount of chinese immigrantion. Now very notable in the capital of the country. I've read there were 300.000 in the last ten years. Plus the Japanese and Korean immigration that came before there are now several Asian/Half-Asian Argentinians. You are also seeing more people from West Africa and a number of kids who i think are adopted from Haiti.
The whole continent of America is very racially and ethnically diverse and Argentina that has very lax laws when it comes to foreigners is not an exception by all means.

Im getting a headache when I try to separate everything. when you think about it the life in argentine is pretty fun, huge diversity, never boring.Nirgal wrote:I-no wrote:hamtaro is the nickname I gave to aguero. he looks harmless but is very strong. isnt messi your most loved player? how about higgy? do you like him?Nirgal wrote:I-no wrote:tevez and hamtaro are from argentine league.Ganso wrote:indeed,Argentinian and Uruguayan leagues are very tough physical wise.
