Cristiano Ronaldo: The Premier League is more competitive than La Liga

Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has hailed the quality of the Premier League, saying England's top flight is 'more competitive' than La Liga.

The Portugal international left Manchester United for Madrid in 2009 after six years at Old Trafford to pursue his dream of representing Los Blancos, but he still believes that the Premier League is more challenging than the Primera Division.

"The Premier League is more competitive than La Liga," Ronaldo told DT. "In Spain, football is more technical, the players like to control the ball, they play more football.

"In England, the game is more intense, the referees give more freedom and I believe that the British fans like it.

"I like it, too, the fast football, teamwork, it is brilliant and wonderful to watch."

I think he's 100% correct in his assessment and there is nothing wrong with what he said.

I'm not saying the EPL is better than La Liga talent and quality-wise, but football in the EPL flows like in no other league. It's fast, intense, and the refs are more lenient, which is why neutrals and people who are new to football would prefer to watch the EPL over the other big leagues.

Fact is, ronaldo is more of an athlete than a footballer. Footballers thrive in la liga while physical specimens thrive in EPL.

There are quite a few teams who are capable of taking points from Madrid in weekly basis.

Ronaldo just said EPL is faster, more athletic and direct than la liga which is more technical, and that he and many others like it that way.

EPL = Faster, more balls in the air, more physical, refs more lenient, good competition, more direct, less tactics, less build up, lots of money, lots of sugar daddies.

La liga = The two richest and most technical teams in the world, balls played in the ground, less direct, more build up, poor teams, few to none sugar daddies, many stars.

Serie A = Slow pace of play, many tactics, lots of build up, some play in the air and some on the ground, less physical, good and deep defending, more older players, more money than la liga but less than epl, big traditions, lots of sugar daddies, empty and antiquated stadiums.

Pick your poison... Or do as many serious football fans and watch the Champions League and the best games and teams from leagues all around the world.

Ronaldo, EPL 196 league 84 goals, La Liga 81 league 87 goals. EPL is sooo easy...

And yes obviously the Madrid guys here know more than Ronaldo, They have obviously played in the La Liga and EPL for many years to know the truth. Ronaldo has no experience of playing anywhere, He is just saying it for the heck of it.
