Diego Simone Empty Diego Simone

I don't say this about many Atleti ex-players but this guy has balls. He's a decent coach too and Atleti could become quite good if he can motivate their players.

Do you think he can do it? Atleti have talent so is a European spot a realistic goal?

lots of teams fighting for those two spot.... Sevilla, Bilbao, Espanyol, Malaga and Osasuna dont think they have the quality to get a spot in Europe seeing those teams ahead of them

Note how i didnt mention Levante... yes because they will go to CL forget EL...they will something Stoke have struggled to do

Maybe but Simone has history with Atletico and you can't underestimate passion when it comes to football.

Look at Conte for example he's doing a great job at Juve and his love for the club is probably the biggest reason why that's the case.

The race for CL/EL spots is going to be insane this year in Spain. Should be awesome.

Thought he did a decent job with Catania myself.

Results weren't there, but they played some good football. Even if it was essentially Argentina's C team.

Seems to have that vitality on the bench that Atleti have lacked at times.

lol from sid lowes blog(last matchday)...

This weekend only one of the top 10 won – Real Madrid. No one wants to take the fourth place, which looks set to be one of the cheapest Champions League slots there's been.

Maybe Pathetico have a chance after all

Atleti have picked up 7 out of 9 points in his first 3 games.

7 goals scored and none conceded.

Could he FINALLY be THE ONE? Surprised

Based on the half-season he was with them?

Simeone so far has been great fro Atleti, but he hasn't faced real opposition. Chances are he's going to stay for a while, so let's see what he can do once he gets the all-important pre-season.

What is considered "real opposition" in La Liga?

Only Barca and Madrid?

A draw vs Malaga, win vs Villarreal (18th) and win vs Sociedad (15th) isn't really an accomplishment. Wink

I am not about to jump on the bandwagon just yet, this is Atletico we are talking about after all.

I hope he gets a fair chance, so far he done well but lets wait and see.

If he can keep them at least semi-capable defensively then he has a chance because in Arda and Falcao they have goals in them.

True, but compared to what was happening before him, they will take it.

They had only picked up 2 points the entire season away from home untill last weeks 4-0.

He will, he has the support of the fans and the president, who both love him due to his success as a player there.

Undoubtedly a good start, but this is Atletico lol don't be surprised if they go on a 3 match run of defeats lol. It's too early to judge Simeone now.
