Chamberlain 2012-13
From what ive seen aoc is already are most talented winger. Best crosser, best passer, best close control, best shot, and best dribbler (along with gervinho). The only thing he lacks is experience, so the question is will he be first choice next season and whos place will he take in the team? i wonder if this is playing on walcotts mind regarding his new contract

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
wow come to think of it, he actually is our best winger (in terms of pure talent).
the problem he has is that he hasn't been tested enough, and he is poor defensively (i dont know if he has improve that yet).

I think hes better defensively than he was at the start of the season. He tracks back a lot more now

This doesnt reflect well on our other wide men but hes already the strongest as well. When you think about it walcott, arshavin, gervinho, and benayoun are all easier to knock over, despite alex being only 18

umm yeah i also see glimpses of his defensive improvement as well but im still not sure. i need to see him play against an established EPL team first. aston villa in the FA cup would be a perfect test for him.

yeah he probably is the strongest (although walcott he quit strong now aswell) but who cares, wingers dont need to be strong.

ohh yeah i forgot about that game, he was solid, well we will see what he does against aston villa. if he plays well in that game i think he should start for us, and take walcotts place. walcott can come from the bench when teams are tired.

we have to build the team around him wilshere and coqulin. ramsey too if he finds his pre injury shooting ability, and left foot passing, which has gone from his game.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
He will definitely get more playing time. Wenger himself has said this. We can't rely on Walcott the whole season and he definitely deserves a chance.
Walcott isn't even a winger, people forget.

i think thats wilshere but chambo is a top talent. I might get burned but theres times where his mix of pace, power, technique, and thunder strike remind me a bit of a young brazil ronaldo. Still got it all to prove though obviously

yeah we keep forgetting him as wenger hasnt been playing him but when we sell some players he should get a chance too imo. him and chambo are our future wingers if it all goes to plan.
he would of played against leeds but the thing is wenger has to play the likes of arshavin and chamakh so we have a better chance of selling them.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
Neither is AOC, although in fairness he is more likely than Walcott to remain out wide as he progresses given our abundance of CM talents.Sushi Master wrote:Walcott isn't even a winger, people forget.
I'm sure that's the only reason he's playing them! Seriously though, considering we haven't seen Ryo face EPL opposition, Arshavin>Ryo. Disregarding that I'm one of the few remaining Arshavin believers, he was pretty good yesterday, and I think he might flourish in Gervinho's absence. Chamakh, I'll agree, isn't good enough, but Arshavin deserves another chance. Ryo should be loaned out IMO.RedEyesWhiteBeard wrote:yeah we keep forgetting him as wenger hasnt been playing him but when we sell some players he should get a chance too imo. him and chambo are our future wingers if it all goes to plan.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
Chamberlain played predominantly on the right wing for Southamtpon, and ocassionally in the centre. He's played more on the wings than he has centrally.

Although he spent most of his football career (youth level) learning his position in midfield. Playing on the wing is actually quite new to him
Too early to say really but i think he could develop into a striker. It seems like hes naturally lethal infront of goal and hes got all the qualities to play centrally

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
Yeah, Chamberlain has said a few times that he envisions himself as a central player eventually, and Wenger as well has said that he might move him to central midfield one day. Of course, given what we've seen of his talents thus far, a wide position is probably more fitting. I guess we'll see how he develops over time.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
Considering our lack of wide players and our abundance of central prospects (Coquelin, Wilshere, Ramsey, Frimpong, Lansbury), I highly doubt we'll see him develop in a central position.
Unless we convert him to striker

THE FUTURE = Wilshere, Coquelin, Ramsey, Frimpong, Jenkinson, Miquel, AOC, Ryo, Ozyakup, Afobe, Aneke, Song, Walcott, Szczesny.
