De Ceglie eyes Juve extension
Paolo De Ceglie is being linked with Roma and Milan, but his agent insists that the player wants a new deal at Juventus.
The defender, who was brought up through the club’s youth system, is only tied to the Turin giants until June 2013.
He has been paired with Roma this week – in a possible swap with David Pizarro – while Milan official Ariedo Braida is known to be a big fan of his ability.
Nevertheless, representative Carlo Pallavicino has told Radio Sportiva that his client wants a future in Turin.
“Coach Antonio Conte’s faith in the player is one of the strengths in the relationship between Juventus and De Ceglie,” Pallavicino noted. “Let’s hope they soon extend his contract.
“His deal expires in June 2013 and the player wants to stay, as well as play. De Ceglie is at the club’s total disposal and I don’t think there will be great difficulties.”
The former Italian Under-21 international, now 25, has made six Serie A appearances under Conte so far this season.
De Ceglie started the campaign as the side’s first-choice left-back – he was sent-off in the opening day win over Parma – until Conte moved centre-back Giorgio Chiellini over to the flank.

I could go either way with this one. Clearly, Conte has little to no faith in him. I'm not even sure if Conte has strong faith in him as a backup. If he is willing to sign for very low salary, I guess let him stay. But I don't think we should be fighting to keep a player we don't play. He's not that young anymore.
