I don't think we will be signing Kjaer on a permanent basis if he keeps up this average level of defending..

Where is the Kjaer I see for Denamrk ?

The guy is a complete wall..

If he wants to stay then he better improve big time.

I think he's maybe the biggest flop of our summer market. At least in italian newspapers, he was praised as such a good CB etc etc, but he's been nothing but a failure, IMO

I think Sabatini should be going to Cagliari to buy our next CB. Kjaer has been a disappointment so far.

Don't see us getting a CB honestly guys....just doesn't seem to be the priority and I guess that speaks volumes of the trust LE and the hierarchy have in our current CBs.

As for Kjaer...still doesn't look like he's settled yet and I think that's down to the injuries. He's shown flashes of what he'd become known for with Palermo, but a lot of his errors just seem to be mental more than anything.

Not ready to give up on him yet.

Meh, he won't be leaving this window, but we could be more interested in the summer.

We're also linked to Bordeaux's CB Michael Ciani. Would be affordable, he's still got quite a few years left at age 27.

Ciani's actually a pretty decent defender. Was on the radar of a lot of clubs when Bordeaux were still coached by Laurent Blanc and were winning Ligue 1.

Unfortunately, when Blanc left and Bordeaux began to fade into anonymity, so too did Ciani, whose form has never gotten back to where it was 3 years ago.

As far as who he's comparable with..thats a tough one...he's not a ball-playing CB, but is quite imposing physically. He reads the game well enough, but doesn't have that nous of your Thiago Silvas and your Chiellinis...

Suffice to say, he's a step up from Kjaer, but a step down from Juan.

Transfer window for Serie A is closed, seems like Marquinho is our only notable acquisition this winter, not that I'm complaining lol. A few other transfers:

- Tuttomercatoweb say that Valerio Virga is back with us after a short loan move to Lega Pro side Lanciano.

- Roma have bought Piacenza's Jonathan Alexis Ferrante, a young Ital-Argentine who made his debut with our primavera this morning, in a 2-1 win over Milan.

- Barusso has been sent on loan to Nocerina.

- Simone Sini has been sent on loan to Livorno, with the option to buy half of his rights.

- Gianluca Caprari has been officially loaned out to Zeman's Pescara.

Great move for Caprari this way he will get playing time and come back to us a much improved player and no better manager to work under than Zeman :bow:
