you comments are laughable.......
good you don't live in America....
Yes it is. A country full of over-sensitive people. Where you have to be politically correct almost all the time and everybody is offended by everything.
And yes, before you ask I have been there, 4 times.
Apparently the truth is laughable now. Anyway, it would appear we should agree to disagree on the issue. In my brief time alive I, like many others have realised that names and words do not hurt, at all. So when I see people crying, whining and complaining about being called a name I can't help but think why? It's just a name.
couldn't have made yourself more laughable....
do you know how little black kids feel when they are verbally racially abused at school by white folk?
do you know what it can do to them?
have you thought about it before?
to you its just words right and they cannot hurt so we must let it continue, because they did not do physical damage afterall...

Aford, being white in a majority white country is probably a bad position to try and judge the harm of racism.

Re: Luis Suarez Banned for 8 Premier League Games
People, I'm really sorry for Liverpool, I know Suarez is important for them. But this is Suarez's fault. He has let down his club and players.
It's bull$h!t when someone says "so what" to racial abuse. I know Evra is not a saint, but if Suarez really called him negrito, well, I think its idiotic to say he didn't know it was insulting "In Europe". What are we living in the 15th century?
Racial abuse might sound so overreacted, and I agree that if someone called me names I'd just say "Yo momma and your sister had no complaints about my colour yesterday." XD JK. But why all the fuss now, when we know how much FIFA is trying to supress racial abuse? This is normal.

A claim that Suarez himself (far from a saint) has claimed to be true too. Ah yeah buddy, you don't know the full details, yet felt compelled to write that little sarcastic usual comment of yours.
my point was that noone would give a single *bleep* if patrice evra didn't throw a shit fit, but i imagine that sailed right over your head
Why shouldn't he throw a "shit fit" if he was racially abused? smh! That's a big issue in all walks of life, it doesn't make it any different if it happened to a famous football player.
What's even worst is that Kenny Dalglish and LFC had the audacity to lay the blame on Evra for making shit up. That club has gone right down in my estimation and I've lost all the respect I had for them.
They are the real losers in all this drama.

Conclusion: Well done the FA for stamping down on a serious issue such as this and setting a precedent towards others. Racism should not be tolerated in football.
To be honest in Uruguay and Argentina "negrito" is a common nickname and is not considered offensive. And it's not necessary applied to friends only. You are completely allowed to call someone of any race that word in most informal circumstances and no one would feel offedded.
For me it mostly seems like misunderstanding.
if Suarez wants to go around and call every dick harry and tom "negrito" he should **bleep** go and play his football in South America....
this is not a concrete reason to back those claims up...
My point is that he may very used to think of the word as non offensive.
Many rioplatenses could find themselves in similar circumnstances since calling someone "negrito" in here is very usual and no one think is an insult.

Re: Luis Suarez Banned for 8 Premier League Games
Club and Suarez still denies making any kind of racist remark.
Who is saying that it's admitted ?
It's one man's word against another, and FA has, obviously gone for the United player.
LFC is going to war looking at our statement, and I am proud of the club, to fight back.
I hope Kim Jong Il nuked the FA before dying.

of *bleep* course it has levels and degrees, like it always has
for instance, a football player calling a 30-year old rival a racially-based term that isn't considered offensive in the offending player's country is a lot less racist than someone stabbing a person for being black
see the difference?

No I don't know how those kids feel because I am not them. But I can tell you if it were me I wouldn't care that somebody called me a name, at all, ever. And the words themselves do not hurt, it's the way you react to them that could make them hurtful. Also just to clarify, I live in the second most multi-cultural city in England, I have been called racist names before, by all kinds of ethnicities and not a single of them hurt me in any way because they are just words and words cause me know harm.

That's true, I get called "negrito" all the time. My dad and mom do it, My girlfriend does it, my friends do it. Business owners i don't know do it. It's just like "dude" or "pal", "fellow".
It's not related to race either. I have light skin and am of solely european descent, but that's not what the word is about. In argentina and uruguay it's also common to call people "loco" (crazy) "Boludo" (big balls) "flaco" skinny and nobody thinks of them as insults either. They are just ways of calling people.

I don't care about being called by my race by my friends when I know they mean no harm....
but when you march around the pitch and deliberately scream "negrito" at someone, surely you don't expect the person to think its for fun....

Re: Luis Suarez Banned for 8 Premier League Games
The word Negro was adopted from Spanish and Portuguese and first recorded from the mid 16th century. It remained the standard term throughout the 17th-19th centuries and was used by prominent black American campaigners such as W. E. B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington in the early 20th century. Since the Black Power movement of the 1960s, however, when the term black was favoured as the term to express racial pride
