The names to take over Atletico
Diego Simeone: resigned from his club Racing de Avellaneda, and directly positioned himself in candidate to take over Atletico. Former Atletico player.
Solari: Mendes candidate (Mendes has invested interests in Atletico), he is expensive, so Atletico will go for him if the deal is economically viable for them.
Benitez: Probably the best choice, but he is expensive, and he is obsessed with staying in England.
Juande Ramos: currently coaching in Ukraine
Aragones: fan favorite.
Atletico is a club with more resources than many in Spain, they deserve a top coach to fulfill whatever potential they have, given the quality they have on the pitch.

Re: The names to take over Atletico
Scolari has done nothing of notice for some time now.
Aragones or Benitez would be nice.

Rafa is waiting for some big name club. I don't see any other reason behind his 18 moths of self-exile.

Re: The names to take over Atletico
He's decent. He lost control of the dressing room this year which is why he was kicked out of Racing, but to be fair he only had the job for about 6 months and still maintained a good record. Missing the Libertadores by a few points didn't help his case. Won Primera titles twice before, once with Estudiantes and once with River, but also took River to the very last spot once. During his short spell in Italy I'd say he performed exactly as you'd expect Catania to, although I think he took over midseason so he didn't really have a chance to stamp his style on them, which usually happens during pre-season. All in all I'd say he has potential but is very inconsistent. I'm excited to see how he performs.
