Is Ronaldo worth more now or before Real signed him?

I was having a conversation with a united fan, and he told me that he would love to have Ronaldo back, but that right now he's only worth 2/3rds of the price. Thoughts?

Yes = worth less
No = worth more

If he were the same age then I would definitely consider him to be worth more - though he's obviously worth more or less dependent upon which system and club he'd be slotting into.

Given that part of his original price in my eyes relates to how many years he would be useful to the team for, it would all probably balance out and to United, he probably is only worth 2/3rds of the price they sold him for.

regardless of what he's worth, if RM wanted to sell him today i doubt perez would sell him for less than he purchased him for.

A couple of years have passed, he's a better player now but has less years to go. If sanity prevailed in football he would be worth less.

If Sheik Mansour or Berlusconi or whoever wanted to buy him though, he might go for more.

He still has insane marketing value despite his sub par goal scoring record against Barcelona which we all know, is worth it's weight in platinum and cancels out everything else. But I think we would be sold for the same amount he was bought or let out on a free transfer as Real Madrid would have sucked the man dry like the vampires they are...

He's probably worth more or less the same despite being a couple of years older.

However, with the implementation of a proper strength and conditioning programme designed to develop both hypertrophy and endurance in his calves muscles, his value could double/triple.

anyways i think he is worth more than what madrid payed for him, hes ranked by majority the 2nd best player in the world and the best by a vast minority. if u take in account all the silly transfers that have been going on like caroll, torres, ibra-eto, pastore and such you see that his price is justified.

Except we're not talking about Torres or poor transfers we're talking about Ronaldo.

Just because there are people with too much money to spend doesn't make his price "justified", it's not like he's actually won anything at Madrid and I don't think they'd be in a worse place if they never bought him.
