It's good (and a relief) to see both center-backs now back in training. Especially with JT's legal proceedings, we really need them fully fit and ready to go right from the get-go.

Good article here detailing Oscar as a player, as well as what his and our other signings say about the club and its future.

Also this, claiming we're "close" to a deal for him, as well as that a fee has been agreed between us and Porto for Hulk, and that the complications with third party ownership is the only thing holding the transfer up.
As far as Hulk is concerned, it's the same "reports" we've been hearing since late May, and I really find it hard to believe we'd be signing him if we've already spent so much on Marin, Hazard and Oscar.

Re: The Blue Box
What kind of fan would I be if I won't be disappointed if Terry faces a lengthy ban?
He's the team's leader but we can't rely on him forever. And we can't just bench him saying we gotta play the youth. This could be the perfect opportunity, the perfect excuse lol

Sky sports reported that The case could soon be over as Anton has no case.
May not end up with a ban after all.

Re: The Blue Box
The ONLY plus that can come out of a possible JT ban is the Cahill-Luiz partnership familiarizing and maturing. Other than that, having him out will be a massive blow. Apart from his leadership qualities, just imagine what will happen if he gets banned and one of DL or GC get injured. What happens then? We only have 2 center-backs (plus maybe Iva to play there). It could be catostrophic, especially with how many fronts we're competing on.
Let's just hope this ends up being a non-issue with no ban being imposed after all.

Guess you are right Shed End
I'm really curious to see how Terry would eventually move on. He'll definitely retire here, but would he settle for a place on the bench once Chaloba and Bruma is ready

I believe so, Terry will know better than anyone how good our young CB's are so I think he will step aside once they are good enough.
Plus we won the holy grail so he will be less hungry as he has won everything for us.

Re: The Blue Box
"I respect the decision of the owner of Chelsea but I will never accept it," Villas-Boas told The Guardian.
"I told him that for me, it was him quitting on me when he had been so much involved at the beginning in bringing me in [from Porto] and he was also [the one] who was not putting up to the things that he promised.
"What reason did he give to me? I'm not sure if I can make it public but the reasons don't go along or can't be applied to the fact that I was dismissed."
"I am always a person who defends certain principles that were never understood in England and it requires much more adaptability from myself," he said.
"I am a person who always puts the team in front and I do it publicly. I'm not a guy who is able to criticise anyone in public but I am not a guy who promotes individuals in public."

Re: The Blue Box
YAWN. More nonsense from this delusional egomaniac. You'd think taking on his first job outside the comforts of the already-dominant Porto and failing miserably at it would knock a person down a peg or two...but not AVB. He's as arrogant as they come.
The reality is, he knew what he was signing on for when he put pen to paper and wrote his name on the contract. He, like every other person in world football, knows what Roman Abramovich expects from his managers. He should have known long before he even signed that he was going to be judged on results. And even with that, I actually think RA would have kept him even with poor results had the team been playing decent football, the players buying into his vision, youth gradually being integrated, and the team as a whole improving as the weeks went by (i.e. the transition/"project" showing noticeable signs of gradual success for the good of the club long-term). But none of those things happened. He wants to talk about 'agreements' and 'promises'??...THAT'S what he agreed and promised to do when he signed, and he fundamentally did not do it.
I was an adamant and unabashed supporter of his right throughout his tenure, but I've come to accept that he was rightfully sacked. To sum it up, the players stopped believing in him and his vision, which happened because of a combination of woeful man-management and embarrassingly poor results, which happened because of his horrible, laughable, nonexistant tactics, people-skills, humility, and even basic aptitude in managing a football club.
Rant OVER.
(PS - sorry for the long post. Just seems I have so much to say about this topic these days )
