Although I don't really think that Di Caprio has deserved it for any given year.........maybe for the Aviator......but that's a stretch.

He should have at least been nominated for Shutter Island.

what i find unbelievable is that Martin Scorsese is looked down almost every year by the oscars.... he should have more then just one oscar...

Yeah definitely liked him in the Aviator and the Departed as well as Shutter Island.

Everything else is pretty meh for me in terms of his acting.

I used to hate him back in Titanic. Seemed like a bitchy dude back then.

But now: Gangs of New York, Departed, Blood Diamond, Body of Lies, Shutter Island, Inception

He's earned my respect.

Shutter Island was :dance: Not sure if it was Leo's acting as much as the outstanding story line...Still did his part great.

Leo has chosen some excellent roles down the years. He is one of those guys who is pretty much only in good movies these days, so he knows what he is doing.

Definitely one of my favourite actors along with Daniel Day Lewis

Daniel Day Lewis stole the show in Gangs of New York imo. One of my favorite characters in all of cinema, Bill Cutting is.

DiCaprio was pretty good in it as well and held his own, but the ones I named were better from him imo.

His South African accent for Blood Diamond sounded very authentic (would like to hear TA's opinion on that) so that was a good performance as well.

Body of Lies was very meh.

He should of won one for "What's eating Gilbert Grape?" and Baz's "Romeo and Juliet"

One of the best actors of our generation and highly underrated by the acting community imo

Totally agree. He's not bad as Daniel Plainview either.

Oscar is such a popularity contest movie it's ridiculous. Scorsese should've won it much more times than 1...

But he really is one of the top top actors of this generation IMO. Love every movie he's in so...

The man's handsome, and I've enjoyed every one of his versatile performances.

Certainly one of the best actors of my time.

Okay, now that I have watched both Dallas Buyers Club and The Wolf Of Wall Street, I can say it without hesitation that Matthew McConaughey will win Best Actor over Leo deservedly this Oscar.

Which brings me to the question, how many Oscars do you think Leo should have won? I say a minimum of two Best Actor for The Aviator and Shutter Island. I am unsure about 2006. I saw Blood Diamond like five times and The Last King Of Scotland just once so obviously I remember DiCaprio's performance over Forest Whitaker's. 2011 J Edgar? Best supporting actor for Gilbert Grape? I don't know who won that year.
