Gerard Piqué - why does everyone fancy him so much?

Gerard Piqué is NOT one of the best defenders in the world!! Why do you guys think he is - he plays for Barca, it doen't really take much to defend and he get toprated for scoring goals, not closing down!!

I wanna know why PES fancy him as a 5 star Defender. scratch

Anyway, it's beacuse he has shown relevance as a CB and has actually been a factor in Barca's success. If we're speaking attributes alone, he's good IMO. Fast, Strong, good in the air, good at going forward and can actually play a ball. The only area I'd say he's not so hot in is actually his reading of the opponent's game. He's surprisingly not too good on 1on1's.

Meh, overall I rate highly.

I wouldn't be as bold as the King Patellar but the man is the real deal. I really rate him as a defender and quite frankly, a bit envious that Barcelona has such a defender for many years to come...

One of the best CB's in the world and is always close to MOTM in the big games......

And won everything there is to win.......

He is rock solid defensively in the big games and technically maybe only bested by Hummels ( and that is debateable)

He is a big game player,who cares about his lapses in match against zaragoz and herculse(no offense to both clubs lol)? Certainly i dont.

Shakira has nothing to do with it. It's that Puyol is always injured. The best part about Pique was the way he complimented Puyol. Without him he lacks the leadership and concentration of his better half. As in the case with most Barca players, the teammates make the rest excel more than they otherwise would :coffee:
