Because Paulo Bento isn't very bright.
He's playing 3 Box-to-box midfielders with no playmaker.
Ronaldo always played better with Deco in the starting XI, Danny needs to play instead of Carlos Martins, and they need to use hugo almeida as a target man over Helder postiga so he can hold up the ball, and header/lay off to ronaldo.

I view messi and ronaldo as two of the best in history, they are in that group with pele, maradona, henry, ronaldo, zidane, cruyff, maldini, etc etc etc etc. There are quite a few up there imo, they are all in that group. now atm you don’t understand where im coming from but, if you think about how many professional footballers there are in the world on all levels, and how many have played the game over the years. That’s like millions and millions. Those guys are in the elite, you can argue all you want about who better out of the elite, but the best players in history don’t have to be only in groups of 3 and 5 players.

ohh whatever, im not even a ronaldo fan boy, im just saying he is up there, still has more to prove of couse but he is already ingraved in history for the amount of goal he has scored, same as messi. and you cant say no to that....
