Given the history of Abras past changes to the club, thats not case. He will be sacked after this or second season..It all comes down to trophies in the end.

So what did he do right in this match?

Was the playing style the same with more pressing from the midfield? And i can see that he kept Lampard on the bench. Tactical decision or was he injured?

Same style? He parked the bus. In hindsight a great move, Chelsea don't have the players to play an attacking proactive style.

I wouldn't be surprised if Terry told him that they should sit deep for the 90 minutes.

Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with that so long as you win Razz

but Chelsea will face teams that will not f*ck it up at the back at some point. What then? They'll just sit back for 90 minutes without a game plan other than hoof it to Drogba and let him try to exploit weak CB's?

It was a must win game for Chelsea so it's understandable but if Villas-Boas really wants to make a change at Chelsea he shouldn't drop the system he wants to employ (he probably should tweak it though).

(Just to clarify there is nothing wrong with how Chelsea played, they won after all.)

Well obviously he knew his players would be better off doing something which they have done for years. After all even though both he and Roman want a new style, we cannot forget our immediate concerns that might have a negative impact on us. Better be safe than sorry in these kinds of situations, such as today.

However, this was just a temporary move. I'm not sure whether we would continue to play something like this in the near future (I kinda doubt it but expect to be played in big games), but clearly once more players suited to the system start coming then the system will gradually become high line. After all that is the whole point of this 'transition'.
