Maybe Jenkinson in a few years if Wenger does his magic.
Richards is a beast when going forward. Especially when he goes on those bulldozer runs.

Can he cross? No.EarlyPrototype wrote:Sushi Master wrote:Richards, but that isn't saying much. I agree with Arq, he's dumb as hell and doesn't offer much going forwards.

Can he dribble past a player or use technique to his advantage? No.
Can he make decent passes? No.
He's like a tank with the turret and machine gun not included.

Apart from the 4 assists of course which leads the league for defenders

Yes he can dribble past a player infact when he puts his head down he just powers his way past 2 players and whips in dangerous low crosses. He is great at over lapping.

No, he can't dribble. Exactly, he just powers his way past people. Very 1 dimensional. Against top teams that won't get you far.
4 assists don't mean shit this early in the season. Still average.

Re: England's best RB?!?
Who gives a *bleep* if you have to dribble past players like Messi or do an elastico? All that matters is actually getting past the player. That is like me saying Walcott is shit at going forward because all he does is knock the ball and run.
What RB has been better than Richards going forward? Not many.

In England? No one. I'm talking overall terms. Yes, he's currently the best in England (Sagna is injured) but overall he's still average. I could do a little list of guys better than him going forward.

Well I am talking about England and Sanga is not better going forward, but a better RB overall.

Sagna is shit at crossing but the man can dribble if he has to.
But yeah, overall he's on another level.

I can post 5 secs of Heskey doing roulettes and that exactly doesn't turn his skills into even decent ones.

Re: England's best RB?!?
I see a lot of potential in Jenkinson at the moment. He can attack well and beat his man + consistently cross the ball well. Let's see how he develops but I really like him so far
At this moment it's gotta be Micah Richards imo

Is it just me or does anyone else think Jenkinson is average at best and doesn't look like he will ever be good enough to be an Arsenal starter.

Re: England's best RB?!?
Don't think I've ever seen Dennis Irwin to a step over or a lil shimmy or anything to get past his marker yet that still made him a competent full back. Basically, dribbling is not a prime asset for a full back honestly, just an added bonus. Micah Richards is currently England's best performing right back and personally, if Marcelo can improve, there is hope for anyone else really.

Re: England's best RB?!?
People questioning Richards intelligence. Yes a few seasons ago he didn't have a clue, but since last season he's been improving at a vast rate defensively learning from all his mistakes.
Also people who don't think he's great going forward. City have relied heavily on their fullbacks this season. He is a proper athlete gets up and down the touchline. His crossing perhaps isn't the best but he can put dangerous balls in and not to mention the added bonus of his aerial ability when defending and in all set pieces.

I would throw Jones in the mix too. He has played very well there for United.

Also Kelly is a quality rb too. Kept Young in his pocket in the LFC v United match. I think he has a big shout to get that spot too imo.

Flanagan looks promising too. He might even over take Kelly in the future.

Re: England's best RB?!?
Flano has a lot to learn.
Kelly though is amazing, Its going to be either him or Walker for the future RB. Walker will get the nod as England prefer offensive full backs compared to solid and complete ones.
