It looks like were very close to signing this guy from Club Nacional.

He's 18 years of age,Striker can also play on the left wing as well.

Seems like this deal is near completion. Nico Lopez's agent, according to SKY, is at Trigoria to finalize the deal.

Anyone know a lot about him? I've heard some good things but don't really know a lot of him.

Roma present Nicolas Lopez

Roma have already presented Nacional’s Nicolas Lopez to the media. “Playing for Roma is a dream I hope to experience very soon.”

The 18-year-old Uruguayan striker has not actually signed for the Giallorossi yet, but visited the Trigoria training ground on Wednesday.

“Playing for Roma is a dream I hope to experience very soon,” he told the official club Facebook page.

“Thank you to all the Roma fans.”

Lopez was accompanied by parents Alejandro and Monica, his brother Mauricio and agent Pablo Bentancur.

“Nico Lopez arrived this afternoon to visit the training ground of AS Roma ahead of formalising the agreement that in future could allow him to play with the Giallorossi jersey,” read the statement.

Nico said that he joined us thanks to Sabatini... you could tell that he values those South American links.

Has anyone ever seen him play? not counting youtube..

Ok but we could make our talent grow.

It's nice that we're buying these youngsters, but I just hope we don't lose sight of the ones we already have, like Viviani, Verre, Caprari, etc. I think we only need to improve our backline through the transfer market, everything else we could deal with by turning to our primavera and youngsters out on loan. For example, the fullback situation: we know that Cicinho and Cassetti are on their way out. For next season, we should have a new quality right back and also look to Crescenzi to play on the left as Angel's backup.

Maybe our talent is crap too.. a world class defender comes out of a youth academy maybe once after 10 years.. who was the last Roma academy graduate who is a star now(defender)?

Our talent isn't crap, we have one of the best youth systems in Italy. The guys I mentioned are going to be good, but only if we give them a chance.
