Welbeck!!!!!
late equalizer for England U21's!, looked to be a touch offside but calmly slotted it home on the turn past De Gea....who also had a brilliant game, england were outplayed and possesion was about 60/40 for spain, the United way tho never say die!

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
I was far more impressed with Smalling. Rio/Vidic/Pique= Smalling.
welbeck did well to take the goal. cleverley played brilliantly when he was moved to the center. De Gea made an outstanding save at the end of the first half. Jones didn't put a foot wrong through out the match.
Great showing from our young players.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Could only catch of glimpses of the match, had a lot of work. Seems like are youngsters did pretty well from the sound of it.
Did any of you guys see yesterday's match between Denmark vs Switzerland? Christian Erikssen is like a Danish Iniesta. Would love it if he came, but he is a bit skinny.

I was busy and didn't catch this game too. But i remember watching Erikssen play against England in a friendly recently and he was fantastic.

Played great in that game, gave Glen Johnson a torrid time.

Yeah Shaqiri is very good. Over reliant on his left foot though.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
^ Yep. Great depth up front and will have us in good stead for all competitions. Also Young can play as a SS too, so he is a welcome attacking option for us now.

This would be my favourite line up
--------------------?
Rafael ------- Rio/Smalling - Vidic ------- Evra
Valencia ----- Modric -------- Park ----- Young
-------------- Rooney ---- Chicharito

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Fluke IMO, but still I've been very impressed with him this tournament. Before I never really rated him that highly but now he's really impressed me, I guess its similar to a lot of people on about Ramires as alot of peeps have been saying to me how they didn't rate him before and now they do.
Either way good goal and am glad he scored it, he's worked his socks off these last two games I've been really happy with his performances, keep it up danny boy.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Amazing goal!!! No way it's a fluke. His reaction was quick hence the improvisation. But the commentary on it was horrible. Don't know if we were listening to the same commentators but the one I was on didn't give any credit to Welbeck at all. Keeps go on and on about Walcott's cross. Didn't even sound excited when England score.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Don't think it was fluke, He knew what he was doing. And he did just enough to get his leg at the right height in the short amount of time. Great goal . Hodgson has a dilemma now.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
He'll never reach the heights of Hernandez, I think we should sell him, maybe we could get 17 mill, for the young lad ?

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Hernandez is better in my opinion. Just sayin'.
Don't want Chicharito to leave, 'cause Welbeck is playing in his place.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
so we have rooney/welbeck/chicharito for the 2 strikers position. It's not that many if we rotate....oh yea, kagawa too. But maybe he'll go CM :I

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Welbeck is far superior to Chicha. At least danny can actually play football. Chicha just sticks the ball in the net, he's like the second coming of gary lineker, pure poacher.
Welbeck offers a lot more to the united side, next season is gonna be a big one for young Danny

Agreed. Hernandez adds nothing to open play. HE stretched the dfence horizontally but thats it. Against barca it was like United only had 9 men.

Re: Welbeck!!!!!
Felt for him today, he had nothing given to him due to England's poor posession play. Had to contend for scraps.
Hopefull he'll have a better game v Italy.
