Re: Cassano suffers stroke
Still no confirmation on it?
I read that it was an ischemic stroke (as ANSA reported) but aside from that, I haven't seen any real diagnosis. And as for who will replace Cassano, who even cares at this point? I mean, the most important thing is that he's ok, football comes secondary in cases like this and replacements shouldn't even be discussed at the moment, imo of course.
So weird that two players, both of whom play for Milan, are suffering from two extremely rare conditions in footballers. Strokes like the one Cassano supposedly had are extremely rare for young men like him, let alone athletes. Terrible luck.
Found this article talking about Cassano, in Italian though.

You're all gonna hate me but it sounds like Karma to me.
However, as he is such a joy to watch, I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Re: Cassano suffers stroke
Statistically speaking, this is almost unheard of. Football players tend to be very fit and any Ischemia occurring is almost never due to atherosclerosis or high blood pressure.
If he indeed suffered a stroke it had to either have genetics involved(and very strong history of stroke in young family members) and/or another more common condition which caused the stroke as a 2ndary effect(like a kidney problem).

He has anger management issues, however this has led to him being at worse a difficult employee. We're not discussing a criminal here, he's a talented but insane footballer who causes trouble, but never through a deplorable medium such as violence. A potential stroke is a bit much for societal vengeance, no?

All I am saying is what goes around comes around and while a stroke is very harsh it's not like we are talking about a player like Lampard or Drogba who are great role Models. He is an ass who is probably the most troublesome footballer out there.

Re: Cassano suffers stroke
Or many other neurological disorders ... Even harmless stuff like Migraines can lead to slurred speech and even temporary blindness.DeviAngel wrote:Milan have reassured anxious fans that Antonio Cassano is on the road to recovery after being struck by a mystery illness.
Cassano has been hospitalised after he started to feel unwell on the flight home to Milan after Saturday’s 3-2 win at former club Roma.
The Italian international is understood to have encountered speech problems on the plane, as well as difficulty in moving.
The 29-year-old has and will continue to undergo tests in a Milan clinic, but the Rossoneri are confident that the player is doing well.
“I spoke to Cassano five minutes ago and he was in a good mood,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. “He seems calm.
“Cassano is strong and will certainly recover. The whole squad is supporting him.”
Galliani, though, refused to go into too much detail regarding what has actually happened to the former Sampdoria player.
“Every patient has a right to privacy and this is the case for Antonio too,” Galliani continued in the interview.
“There are doctors there and they are looking after him. I can’t give a diagnosis.
“I don’t know how long it will take for him to return. I’m not a medic, that is not my profession. He’s being looked after.”

That happens when u have brain stroke
I hope Cassano is alright though. I wish him the best.

I believe in Karma as much as the next guy, but that's a bit much man. It could be a hereditary thing, we don't know at this point, but saying it's Karma is quite harsh. And believe me, there are many worse role models than Cassano out there. He may have a short temper, but he isn't a delusional idiot.
- Antonio Cassano
"It's been 13 and a half years that I scratch my head and it's a problem, I scratch my nose and it's a problem, I'm always a problem. 70 percent of the time it is my fault, it's always me that goes looking for trouble. But in the 30 percent where I'm right, it always ends being me that's wrong ... If one wins a lot or very little, it's because he deserved it. If Buffon has won 10 times more than I, he deserved it. Football gives you back what you put into it, I gave little and I won little".
We could learn from people who have this much humility. Compared to quotes like "people don't like me because I'm rich and handsome", I'd take Cassano as a role model any day of the week.
