Your argument fails. Last season Ovrebo wasn't the ref and barca failed to win CL but still Messi won it. CL or not nobody can stop messi to win ballon dors (in next 3-4 years). Player like messi doesnt need titles to win the best player award. Him being the best is so obvious that they give it to him with their eyes closed

If their norway ref didn't let them cheat against Chelsea in 2009, they would never have won all the titles in that season & no Balon D'or

That Norway ref denied Barca a penalty in Camp Nou and gave them an unjustified red in Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea can understandably rant more, but mistakes were made against both sides

It's wasn't Ovrebo, it was Stark. Although Stark did indeed deny us a penalty aswell in the 4th minute.

Owen had a great year but my vote goes for him because of who he beat out...

Noone of these players deserve this award. Theres should be an award for each position.

You say Cannavaro didnt deserve it( which i agree with ) but to say Zidane deserved it instead who over the year achieved even less as in individual and was poor for his club that season, atleast Cannavaro was the main CB for Juventus that won Seria A.......

Henry or Ronaldinho deserved it, they both did amazing things that year and it went unnoticed.......

Ronaldinho was 2nd top scorer and top assister in La Liga, best player in CL, 2nd top scorer in CL and he won La Liga and CL ffs.....
