I hope they tone down the campaign a little. In Black Ops the action was faster than the first time I had sex.

Re: Modern Warfare 3
COD is like Dynasty Warriors, pumping a new installment every year to certain profit without making any effort towards innovation.

Re: Modern Warfare 3
I'll definitely be getting it
I guess CoD stays pretty similar to its ancestor games but I like the CoD gameplay as it is so I personally couldn't care less if they decide to change it or not

Re: Modern Warfare 3
After buying every COD game it has made me realise it is all the same shit. They are just changing the cover, new missions and a couple more weapons. Definitely not worth buying one every year. Maybe one in every 2 installments. Never mind the shit load of money they make people drop for their bloody DLC (maps)

Re: Modern Warfare 3
I generally played COD as Michael Bay action games rather than shooter. 5 to 6 hours blowing off some steam until adrenaline rush kicks in. They are generic but have some great moments here and there, like Price assassination mission in MW1.

True, CoD single and multi-player is very action movie-esque
Thats why I like CoD, because the stuff you can do is so arcadey.
Take Battlefield (BF3 or Bad Company 2) for example,
YES, the battlefield games are more realistic since real life war doesn't have 6v6 matches where they're playing capture the flag and theres killstreaks with soldiers running around with dual-wield akimbo's. Battlefield has vehicles and wide open landscapes. CoD maps are small and compact (in comparison) with guys running around everywhere just shooting shit. But say i've just had a stressful few days, I don't wanna go play Bad Company 2 where I have to run 100 meters just to have a chance at getting a single kill. I wanna put on CoD, get the shotgun and gun down countless enemies over and over again.
This isn't an attack on the Battlefield series, I pre-ordered Battlefield 3 like 8 months ago but i'll get betting that and Modern Warfare 3

In MW3 they added slightly larger and more urban-looking maps, compared to the previous ones, they added survival mode, which is quite similar to Nazi Zombies, but is nevertheless a completely new game mode, they added new clan options, and yet more online game modes, like the dog tag one (where campers will have to physically move, in order to get their kills registered as points), slightly changed the appearance of weapons that have appeared in previous COD installments, as well as adding new ones that cater to the demands of the community, they changed the killstreak system and divided them into 3 categories, a few tweaks to previous perks + a couple of new ones - and that's only off the top of my head. What more can they do to improve the game? I wouldn't mind if they had spent 2-3 years on developing each new CoD game, but if they were to revolutionize and change too many elements to the game, that might put some people off as well. Infinity Ward have already stated that they made quite a few experimental changes in MW3.
I, for one, never had the patience to run for miles in order to finally spot an opponent in Battlefield 2. I'm not really a fan of driving around in vehicles, either. I bought MW2 two years ago, and I'm still playing it, so I consider it money well spent. Realism doesn't necessarily mean more fun, in fact I think the fast-paced, highly unlikely to happen in real life- gameplay of CoD is way more appealing. But hey, to each their own opinion

and as for the "oh i don't want to run 500 metres to kill someone in battlefield", there's this thing called "spawning on squadmates" that has been there since bf2 and means you don't have to run through the entire map to get in the action
then again i wouldn't trust the "OH MA GAWD RUN AND HOLD TEH TRIGGER THIS BE SO MUCH FUNZZ" players to find that out

Re: Modern Warfare 3
Hmmmm.. Those 2 videos thimmy posted got me thinking lol
I kind of wish I didn't pre-order BF3, should have waited till late November and then decide between that and MW3
Don't have time to spend hours playing games these days but when I do I would prefer quite a bit of action..

Both have action
MW3 will be more arcade-style fun where as BF3 is more large-scale (i.e. destruction, vechiles). Will both have their own form of fun and action.

I'm in the same situation. I only have time for playing games when I get off from work these days. Even if I had more time to spare, I still don't have the patience for a slow-paced game like Battlefield, though. I'd rather run around like a cowboy on CoD and die 20 times, than lie prone in a bush, like a stationary unit on Battlefield, and die once or twice. Besides, does Battlefield offer anything apart from the campaign and online gameplay? MW3's survival mode looks pretty good. It definitely looks more interesting than that zombie stuff from Black Ops, and it's a good opportunity for new players to try out weapons and practice offline.
