Diego and Wayne Bridge on the guardian now..
Some guy called Parry met Raul and talked to him about his future and Raul told him that he is staying.. He even put a pic up, So he did meet him..
Liverpool bend towards Doni, Looks like they will give a 1 million fee..Looks like he will be our first transfer..
Kevin Keen is quitting WHU and is rumored to join Dalglish - Mirror

Absolutely no chance of Bridge. Can't see Diego either, considering the issues he's had at other clubs.Nishank wrote:Diego and Wayne Bridge on the guardian now..

I don't believe the Diego rumours really but for 7m that would be cheap for his quality. Pity he has a couple of screws loose upstairs.

http://www.boston.com/Boston/businessupdates/2011/07/new-york-times-sells-part-red-sox-stake/oZd9gFXIbHyk6pZvVuax4K/index.html
The Red Sox have been struggling lately, but the team is paying off for The New York Times Co., which today sold a portion of its Sox holdings for a sizeable profit.
The Times Co. reported that it sold more than half its holdings in the Fenway Sports Group, which includes the Sox, for $117 million, recouping more than what the media company spent on its entire original investment.
The company did not disclose the three separate buyers to whom it sold shares. The Sox declined comment.
The Times Co. sold off 390 of its 700 units, according to a filing with securities regulators, and has reduced its stake to 7.3 percent of Fenway Sports Group. It sold the units for $300,000 each, triple what it paid for them in 2002.
The company, which also owns The Boston Globe, has been trying to selling off its Sox stake since December 2008.
The Times Co. paid $75 million for a 17 percent stake, or 750 units, in the Red Sox in 2002, the year John Henry acquired the team. Since then, the team has won two World Series titles and the value of the Red Sox and related properties has risen.
In addition to the Sox and Fenway Park, Fenway Sports owns the Liverpool Football Club, the English soccer team; about 80 percent of the regional cable channel New England Sports Network; and 50 percent of Roush Fenway Racing, a NASCAR team.
Last year, the Times Co. sold 50 units of Fenway Sports to Henry F. McCance, a retired venture capitalist from Greylock Partners, for a $9 million pre-tax gain. Those units went for about $280,000 each.
In today’s deal, the Times Co. said it expects to recognize a pre-tax gain of approximately $64 million, which it will report in the third quarter.
Times Co. shares were down a cent to $8.71.

Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
Chelsea poised to enter race for Nasri signature
By Mark Fleming and Ian Herbert
Saturday, 2 July 2011
Chelsea could join the list of clubs trying to tempt Samir Nasri away from Arsenal
Chelsea are monitoring the situation concerning Arsenal's disenchanted midfielder Samir Nasri, and may compete with Manchester United for his signature should their move for Tottenham Hotspur's Luka Modric fall flat.
Nasri, 24, has been discussed at the highest level by the Chelsea board and owner Roman Abramovich, and although he is not near the top of their list of potential targets, that could change should other possible new arrivals become unavailable. Chelsea have already seen a £22m bid for Modric rejected out of hand by Tottenham, though they are highly likely to bid again. Tottenham have categorically ruled out selling the Croatian playmaker, who two weeks ago publicly stated his desire to leave White Hart Lane and move across London to Chelsea.
The queue of clubs ready to capitalise on the uncertainty surrounding Nasri – Manchester City are keeping an open mind on the situation – has not cowed Arsène Wenger into rapid close-season business, with only one imminent new arrival and the Arsenal manager insisting that clubs involved in the summer transfer market "don't blink until late July".
Nasri's reluctance to sign a new £90,000-a -week deal is in part driven by doubts over Arsenal's potential to build and, despite reports to the contrary, there have been no discussions with the clubs of Christopher Samba, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines, Juan Mata or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with a view to strengthening. Any Arsenal move for Bolton Wanderers' Gary Cahill is understood to be contingent on Owen Coyle securing a player in return, with a fear that the Lancashire club's financial position would prevent him retaining the entire transfer fee of around £17m. But Coyle does not want Nicklas Bendtner. A young reserve-team player with potential – Henri Lansbury or the Spanish defender Ignasi Miquel – may be what Coyle needs.
Arsenal's fans are expected to have a new player to contemplate next week, with the possible conclusion of a £10.5m deal for Gervinho, the Lille forward, and contact has been made with Birmingham City about central defender Scott Dann. But Wenger has insisted in a French radio interview that he will not be rushed. "Currently, everyone is standing still," Wenger said. "Everyone expects everyone else to make the first move. Everyone holds on to their cards, hoping for the major transfer [to kick-start the transfer window]. Nobody blinks until late July, early August. Then we will analyse the gaps in each team. [But] I am very active on the phone."
If the clubs with whose players Arsenal have been linked are to be believed, there has not been an abundance of calls. Everton have received no expressions of interest in their players, which suggests no moves for Baines and Jagielka. There is a feeling that the widely advertised Arsenal "interest" in Samba is not being driven by either club. Sources close to Valencia's Mata have disclosed no Arsenal interest, either. Southampton manager Nigel Adkins yesterday denied suggestions Arsenal had tabled an offer for Chamberlain, though Arsenal are believed to be in pole position for his signature despite the interest of a host of clubs.
Chelsea's contingencies for the failure of a bid to lure Modric also include monitoring of Marseilles' playmaker Lucho Gonzalez. Wenger may face a contest with Chelsea over both Cahill and Dann, with new Stamford Bridge manager Andre Villas-Boas understood to be interested in a second English centre-half. No move for Nasri is expected until next week, when United are the club most likely to test Arsenal's resolve to hold on to a player who can walk away next year.
Not exactly our transfer rumor but Arsenal's rumored bid and interest for Mata seems BS.Hopefully this turns out good news for us.Not really holding mu breadth but we will see.

I'm 90% sure he's going to stay in Valencia.
Valencia has done great in the window so far. They're also going to be in the CL, while we won't.

If we don't get Mata, and we lost out on young, and we know theirs no chance of getting Johnson, who is there to get? Downing. Just hoping Kenny can get us some CL football, cause then well fight for class players, i think he can do it tbh, but it will be hard.

A little change of subject, but with Downing supposedly set to hand in a transfer request earlier this week and then all going quiet, I'm curious if anyone has heard anything further on the subject. As it seems that Mata is in no hurry to leave Valencia (and I can't say that I blame the kid), I'm warming to Downing as a good wide option. He's not my dream signing, but I do like him as a player.
Oh, has anyone heard any more on the Cissokho rumors?

what i expect from this transfer window concerning the wingers is: 1 "marquee" winger, and another one for the squad depth.mr-r34 wrote:If we don't get Mata, and we lost out on young, and we know theirs no chance of getting Johnson, who is there to get? Downing.
and tbh i would consider Downing as a squad player.
and my wishes for the marquee signing would be (in order):
1-Mata (Valencia have reduced their debts, but are still 350mil in debt if im not mistaken, so i think a very good offer would tempt them. and he said he was happy at Valencia, but thats not ruling out 100% a move neither)
2-Johnson (not unrealistic if City buy Mata or any other big attacking player, Johnson would seek 1st team action elsewhere for sure)
3-Turan (its weird, not once we've been linked to him this summer, but maybe thats were the surprise lays, you know: behind the scenes and all that . and maybe if Kenny sees its difficult to snap others targets, and knowing hes and lfc fan on the cheap, then maybe well go for him. for now hes only rumoured to Chelsea)
thats the 3 popping out of my head at this moment.
the others (ala Downing, Nzogbia....) are all good and would make good squad players, but i would be very disapointed if they came straight in our starting XI as the marquee singings
