How benzema is being considered better than Gomez is unreal. Gomez is the 2nd most in form player in the to leagues this season behind messi. They are different players? Give me a break ffs. It's not like we are comparing a cm and a an am. They are both strikers for their teams. Benz is a strike, Gomez is better for both club and country, poacher, he has almost the same assists tally doesn't he. Madrid fans just carry on disgracing themselves. Benzema is better on pure talent? Rofl. You guys would say anything won't you? Gomez is better pure and simple.

Infact back when Eto'o left I actually wanted us to go for Gomez instead of that piece of garbage.
And this was back when Gomez was just Gomez(not Godmez) and not in vogue.

Benz is more complete, Gomez doesn't need to be complete. He's an almost perfect finisher and poacher, while still working enough for the team. Sure, he doesn't look as fancy when holding up the ball in the final third, because he does it with physicality, as opposed to Benzemas fine touch, but both aproaches work, and Gomez simply does his job better these days.

Just an addition to the original stats.

In this season and last.

Gomez: 48 games started and 53 goals. 173 shots 101 on target. 6 assists.

Benzema:41 games started and 32 goals. 164 shots 78 on target. 13 assists.

ie in 48 games Gomez has directly contributed to 59 goals
while in 41 games Benzema has directly contributed to 45.

If everyone here agrees that Benzema is more complete and has other ways of contributing to attack and that gomez is mainly a poacher, then I guess these stats show that the gap between them is not as big as some may believe it to be, even tough I feel it is useless comparing them since we can never really count the intaginbles.

Benzema dosen't do too bad in the stats though

The gap isn't huge, they are both quality players. But when people go "Benzema is better than Gomez because of untapped potential" it boils my blood. Gomez is better right now, no denying it.

I will like to say Gomez is not on form, he has always been like this and that is know as quality, scoring goals is a normal thing for him.

Is normal for Gomez to score but abnormal when he stop scoring.

You can only say Gomez is on form when he score hattrick every other time, which he does anyways.

My point is Gomez will keep scoring, it has nothing to do with form, he has always been scoring even during his time with Stuttgart

Well, if Gomez hadn't scored at Stuttgart, Bayern wouldn't have paid all those millions for him ^^

Gomez is much effective than Benzema right now, both in club and country. While it is true that Benzema might have something more to offer, Gomez makes up for the absence of such untapped potential by doing what he does best, that is, finishing every chance that comes his way.

I do have high hopes for Benzema to be WC. However, potential remains a useless word unless it is translated into form.

People who watch the BL know that Gomez was in more that good form for a while. The slump during his start at Bayern was the exception.

What slump? He was actually injured for most of his first season with Bayern. He just was shit for the NT for a while.

Not arguing this because I think the comparison is flawed... But someone mentioned that Gomez has a bigger impact on German nt than Benz has on France nt. there's nothing further from the truth. Blanc decided to build the France nt around Benz and he's been the main reason for our relative success for over a year.

GODMEZ is the best striker in the world...while benzema isn't even world class
