He played his role in ending our trophy drought. For that alone, I forgive him.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
Sanogo started in a first team for close to a year and ends up scoring a hat-trick.
Yeah, you read it right H-A-T T-R-I-C-K but no slip celebration this time.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Yaya Sanogo with an assist as relegation-threatened Charlton win away 1-2. Was also partly responsible for the second goal.
Seemed seriously lively, had a shot off the crossbar too.
Highlights if anyone's interested: http://www.goalsaim.com/brentford-vs-charlton-1-2-highlights-2016-championship/
All of Charlton's decent attacking moves had Sanogo playing some part at least from the highlights.
In hindsight, I guess we made a mistake in sending him to Ajax. They don't play the way he wants and with Ajax competing for the league, they weren't ready to give him chances. To add to all this, they already had strikers and both of them have been in great form, I guess.
Another loan back to the Championship is what this guy needs. Not a loan to the newly promoted clubs coz they have an objective to stay up and wouldn't be ready to give him a chance. He should play in the Championship with a club playing long balls, IMO.
We need to utilize the loan market a li'l better,TBH.So, many loan-worthy players are here at Arsenal. I know when they are here, they can learn the Arsenal way blah blah but there nothing that can be substitute to first team minutes. Gnabry still at Arsenal is another indicator that we're not using the market well.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Bolton manager Neil Lennon says that on-loan Arsenal winger Wellington Silva hasn’t been playing regularly in recent times because his displays have been under-par.
Furthermore, he questioned his ability to perform on the road, as The Trotters get sucked ever closer to relegation to League One.
Currently 10 points adrift of safety, and in a catastrophic financial situation, Lennon’s beleaguered side look doomed, and Wellington has found himself sidelined.
His last start was on February 13th and Lennon demoted him to the ‘development squad’ last week, ostensibly to gain match sharpness, but more likely a reflection his performances.
“He has not been playing well enough to warrant a place in the team,” Lennon told The Bolton News. “His recent performances haven’t been anywhere near good enough.
“He is a decent player at home but away from home he is a bit lightweight.”
Wellington has 2 goals in 22 appearances this season, and while he’s showed flashes of ability, hasn’t been able to produce consistently at Championship level.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Zelalem (remember him?) scored a penalty in a pen shootout in Rangers' Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic. Super high pressure situation and he buried his pen.
So a cup final of him, on top of already securing promotion as champions.

Jon Toral won Supporter's Player of the Year, Player's Player of the Year and Goal of the Season at Birmingham's end of season awards.
Seems they really like him over there. Can see a permanent move happening.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Hopefully a bit of $$ if his contract isn't expiring here.
Wonder if he could be in for a shout for a bit of a Coquelin revitalization at Arsenal? He was once highly rated when he joined with Bellerin and we have a few CMs leaving this summer.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
I can't see him staying beyond pre-season unless we really, really rate him. He might go on loan again (maybe to La Liga), but either way I'm sure he'll want to be playing regularly and not biding his time on the bench.
I think the club rates Zelalem and Reine-Adelaide higher as well.
