Re: Loan Watch Thread
It's going to be a shit game but here's hoping Wellington plays well.
As for the other loanees this weekend:
Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden
Hayden and Akpom will be hoping to be starting again against Preston North End on Saturday, 15:00, after they were rested for their COC win against Rochdale. Hull are looking to bounce back after a defeat to Chalrton last week.
Jon Toral
Toral was also rested in mid-week, as Birmingham progressed to the 3rd round of the COC where they'll have a big derby game against Villa (one to look forward to for Toral, as arguably the biggest game he's ever been in). Before that, Birmingham travel to MK Dons on Saturday (15:00), who have started the season brightly. It won't be an easy game for him.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Table-topping Ipswich take on second-placed Brighton on Saturday at 15:00. An early clash between promotion rivals, perhaps.
Emi Martinez
Martinez may find himself on the bench again when Wolves take on Charlton on Saturday. At 15:00. You know the drill by now.
Dan Crowley
After a highly impressive display against Everton in mid-week, Crowley's Barnsley travel to Rochdale for a considerably less glamorous outing on Saturday. Crowley may find himself starting from the bench as he played 120 minutes on Wednesday.
Gedion Zelalem
Zelalem kicked off his Rangers career with a masterclass in playmaking (supposedly) against Aidrieonians (Oh-ni-ans, not onions) in the Scottish Cup. He'll be looking to start just as well in the league when Rangers play Queen of the South (the queen is only in the south) on Sunday at 12:30.
Serge Gnabry
Gnabry came on as a sub against Chelsea and started in West Brom's mid-week cup game. My guess is he'll be on the bench for their visit to Mordor on Saturday, 15:00.
Carl Jenkinson
Jenkinson may be thankful that he's suspended for West Ham's trip to Anfield on Saturday.
Yaya Sanogo
#FreeYaya #JusticeForYaya Ajax play on Sunday against ADO Den Haag.
Wojciech Szczesny
Szczesny will have a nice comfortable and relaxing outing against Juventus on Sunday.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Not much to report on Wellington Silva.
He seems to be trying too hard at times. You can tell English football is completely different to what he is used to.
but at least he isn't shying away. Wants to impress.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
There was one pass over the top to Madine that was fantastic. Otherwise he's finding it tough to make an impact. Not helped that he's double marked a lot.
Also booked for kicking out at someone.

Gnabry on the bench for West Brom.
Akpom has started for Hull. Hayden is on the bench.
Toral has started for Birmingham.
Maitland-Niles has started for Ipswich. They're 2-0 down.
Emi Martinez not in the Wolves squad.
Crowley on the bench for Barnsley.

Interesting that Steve Bruce prefers Akpom over the other strikers he has. Wouldn't have thought that before he left tbh

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Round up of yesterday:
Gnabry was an unused sub in West Brom's win at Stoke.
Akpom played 83 minutes for Hull before being subbed for Hayden. Hull won 2-0. No goal again for Akpom.
Maitland-Niles was subbed at half-time in Ipswich's 3-2 defeat to Brighton. Seems like he didn't play well.
Jon Toral played 54 minutes for Birmingham in their 2-0 win at MK Dons.
Dan Crowley came on at half-time for Barnsley, but couldn't help them turn around a 3-0 defeat.
On to today's games:
Zelalem currently playing for Rangers against Queen of the South.
Sanogo not in the Ajax squad. Ajax winning 3-0 without him. #JusticeForSanogo
Szczesny should be playing later.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Rangers battered Queens 5-1. Zelalem mostly kept things simple, focused on linking up play over making decisive through balls. I don't think I've seen him sprint once.
He should dominate this league, really.

Chuba could be the outright first striker on the teamsheet if Hull sell Jelavic as they're reportedly close to doing.

Maitland-Niles did this while on international duty:

Also Wellington played for Bolton in a testimonial against Motherwell, got an assist and was voted man of the match.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Wellington...maybe it's because of the league he's playing but damn! He looks awesome. Exactly how I imagined him because of his FIFA stats
Crowley ffs, looks like prime Wilshere in every match I've seen him play for Barnsley. Just on another level technically compared to the other players in his team.
The only problem I have with Zelalem is that he's playing against complete dross. At the beginning of summer I envisioned him playing ATLEAST against Championship level teams. Oh well, atleast he's playing regularly.
