Spain,the greatest ever NT?

Are they the greatest ever National team?
Many might argue that International Football is at an all time low, but 10 years down the line, wouldn't they go down as the greatest time in History? Discuss.

well they will do something no one has ever done, if they manage it today

but with the future of their players which looks very promising, i can see them being the greatest ever

i dont know if they are right now but they sure have the edge over some of the teams milano mentioned above

The best European team perhaps. Brazil '70 still has an edge.

Germany 1972 - 1976 wasn't too shabby either.

Only due to style of play.

Germany dominated that era.

If Spain win this cup they have a hell of a streak, but NT football ain't exactly impressive nowadays.

Well, they may be mentioned more as a team, but interestingly the players of that German NT got way more acclaim (Franz Beckenbauer, Sepp Maier, Gerd Müller, Günter Netzer, Paul Breitner, Wolfgang Overath...) than the Dutch ones (there mainly Johan Cruijff and Johan Neeskens (and for me of course Jan Jongbloed) stood out).

Incidentally I re-watched the 1974 final today (Sport1 atm has a "Best German World Cup matches" series on broadcast), and most of the 1974 German players are still household names (I didn't even mention Berti Vogts, Uli Hoeneß, Rainer Bonhof and Katsche Schwarzenbeck as these were a bit less acclaimed for their footballing qualities than the first ones). I'm not sure if it is the same for the Dutch players in the Netherlands, so maybe some Dutch user can shed some light on it.

how can that be the case while they dont have any inform Striker , Their midfield is strong like i has always been and they chose a playing style to take the most of it but that doesn't make them the greatest

Well, La Roja practically are made of the best club team in history, Barcelona. So they definitely are one of the best national teams in history.

Well if they win today i'm kinda reluctant to call them the best NT in football history since they've played some of the most boring football one can ever watch despite having the talent to play good football like a certain Barcelona does.

Aragones' Spain is worth appreciating though,they won the EURO with style playing 'champagne football' but certainly not Del Bosque's Spain speaking from a neutral's perspective.

Best of all time is pushing it.

They're defo the best this Milliemium/Century/Decade at the moment though.

Well, anyone can find most of their matches on the internet.

Brazil are still better than anyone else historically. Spain have a long way to go in that regard.

In terms of just Europe, it's really debatable now, but Germany probably still edges it simply because they've won more WCs.

Pure footballing ability wise however, Spain are a step above even the best sides from the 70s and 80s.
