Xavi face was getting ridiculously annoying to see.

I think the misuse of the icon was just as bad as the excessive use of it...either way, I'm very glad to see it gone. It was starting to seem like spam- especially from some users who used it in almost every post.

And honestly I don't see what is stopping people from saying "I have been deceived" rather than the icon (this is the way it came about, if I'm not wrong), because I don't see much of a difference between the two- if you want to keep on with the meme. Sure it's not as funny but...when was the Xavi icon ever funny? Maybe the first day or two it came to be, I'll give you that...but just that.

Seriously lucas and vagi were only overused because they were the only two emoticons people actually liked.

The fact you took out emoticons that were hardly ever used proves that point.

tbf vagi was being used in the wrong circumstances so much, the meme really lost all meaning, lucas on the other hand was GOAT

i don't get the "overuse" argument... why don't we start banning users for talking about podolski or abate out of context too? i mean surely unrelated discussion will discourage more people from joining than a random face no?

sure there are people who abuse them, but why the hell punish the majority for "crimes" of a few people? is it really easier to delete a smiley face from the forum code than send a warning to someone who keeps spamming it?

Overuse was meant that there were more than once threads where the only reply was adding one more of these heads - and that for a dozen or more posts. *That* is senseless overuse.

Well, and if we'd have had to send out warnings to the spammers, we probably would have been occupied for hours a day, and frankly, looking after the forum is not a paid job, and it is not fun to send out dozens of warning PMs, especially when they then lead to lengthy discussions about the rightfulness of the warning.

Mind you, you can still use the heads, it is simply not as easy as before, thus it will hopefully curb the overuse by rather elegant means without prohibiting the use altogether.

Sorry, I'm not wasting time digging through all the threads that I found really annoying because there were so many Xavi or Lucas heads as sole replies, as I can use my time better. Fact is - they are not integral to the forum smiley setup anymore and that's it.
