Good decision, hopefully the Xavi one is gone, too. It's annoying when you're trying to debate, and someone thins they're "funny" by posting a stupid "troll face", which is futile at best. Discussion has improved a lot, in my opinion, but more can be done by certain members with regard to posting quality, instead of posting crap.

It is possible you can use the Xavi smiley in tandem with proper discussion and legit points.... same with :coffee:

While iam aware most people just spam it i have seen many posts using the both together.

Obviously you have made your decision and fair enough but i feel its spammed no more than most smileys and like the others its often used in tandem in discussions and points.

Not like a lot of us are incapable of countering points without domination of smileys.....

The standard smileys are usually far smaller and thus less obtrusive than these monster heads. You brought the deletion on yourself by excessive overusage of the heads. (And yeah, I mean excessive overusage)

That being said, I wouldn't use non-standard smileys as much if the standard smileys weren't so damn ugly.

Seriously.

Less is more, dear designers (I know none of you made those smileys^^) - I hate it when smileys are animated, or basically look like anything more than rudimentary smileys.

I tend to avoid them.
But once in a while I need an emoticon, and I will find one that suits my needs. The standard emoticons usually don't.

Well here's the thing though. Both this icon and the lucas smiley were products of memes created here. For newcomers to the forum, it must be incredibly odd for them to see heads of random players in our posts. They will not understand why these smiley's are used just as some of them probably don't understand why Poldolski is the centerpiece in our banner. They're all big inside jokes and for newcomers, it makes them feel like outsiders. I put myself in that perspective and after that, the decision to remove the Xavi icon became an easy one.

Haha I suppose it appears that way, but you guys have said that we may struggle to attract new members. Getting rid of the inside jokes that alienate potential members is a solid step in that direction, I feel.
