if youre not going to bring back lucas you have to have better justification for it then "its jus not coming back" or "i dont like it"
given that the majority of the forum does want lucas back, the least you can do is give some justification as to why

personaly i say we should use :I'munoriginal: in places where the emote would normally be used, afterall, the majority of the forum does know what :I'munoriginal: means

There's too many instances where someone could just post :I'munoriginal: as a response and that's that. It doesn't make for good thread material

Personally I'm ok with Lucas but I mean, there is a time and a place for a one line post (rarely ever tbh)...so I don't want it to be gone, but they were certainlyl right in removing it for overuse. In the same way Xavi is being overused, Lucas was, and it's pretty terrible.

I like memes too, but that's the reason memes shouldn't be in here. If you want one liners/memes go to an image board or whatever.

I myself am completely indifferent to the use of the Lucas and Xavi emoticons just as I am to all the other ones we have. I've even embraced some of them myself.

However, that is only my personal stance on this and in this, I am in the minority.

Collectively, we (Admins and mods) took the decision to remove the Lucas emoticon because of its excessive use. The same is very likely to happen with the Xavi emoticon as well. It's simply been overused and that's the consensus on this topic.

If both icons had actually been used more intelligently instead of in one-liners (funny as some of them are) they might've lasted longer ultimately.

Besides there are plenty of instances where we can correctly use the xavi emoticon. like the last day of PL.

Well, the problem is the excessive overuse, as McLewis already stated. When you see a thread where one statement is followed by 10-20 replies that only consist by the addition of one more of these Xavi heads, then you can really questions the intelligence of the posters who obviously only post to up their post count, but don't really have to say anything of substance.

In the threads you refer to in your earlier post...these emoticons are a perfectly suitable response.

They are troll threads or ridiculous threads created to elicit this response, it's not fair to blame people for posting emoticons when no one else is willing to have a serious discussion on a matter or furthermore, thread creators don't create sensible threads.
