I totally agree.

Wenger would turn Remy into an absolute monster, problem is that with Gignac sure to leave, I don't see OM letting Remy go.

Andy Polo is supposed to be the next best thing out of Peru. He's a striker, too.

Quite a few clubs have been tracking him, and we're not the only English club after him in all likelihood.

Spurs and Man city want him also if Arsenal has any interest in him I am guessing. That sound good to me I like south American players.

Could they have meant to late in the window to replace him? Replacing a player like him would be tough for Rennes, especially at the end of the window...

Park's played four games. :facepalm:

Some fans are so fickle. At first you're all like "Where's Park? Give Park a chance!" and then he gets a chance and you're suddenly saying "Park is not good enough!". How can you judge that in four games?

Even Eduardo took a few months to bed in before he started scoring goals, and that was only when he got a run of games thanks to van Persie's injury. Park is and out the side and playing very sproadically.

Compare and contrast with Chamakh, who's played over 50 games and have been crap in most of them, to Park who's played 4 games. You just can't throw Park in the same boat.

Now I'm not saying we don't need a striker in January, but for goodness sake, enough with the knee-jerking.

No need to be harsh in Park, most of his games for Arsenal were decent - one game shouldn't change your mind, while Chamakh had his chances - more than Vela.

Arsenal's chances of signing Udinese's Gabriel Torje - nicknamed "the porno midget" - look over after the Serie A side's owner issued a hands-off warning.The Gunners reportedly fancied a double bid for winger Torje and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic in January.

But Giampaolo Pozzo said: "I request for the local media to stop talking about the transfer window because we have absolutely no intention of or need to sell."In fact, we only have the need to act on the market regarding possible acquisitions. My ambition is to make this club grow."

Torje's penchant for late-night partying - including a reported threesome - earned him his "porno midget" nickname during his time at Dinamo Bucharest.

He was seen as a definite Arsenal starter, while Handanovic would have been a reliable back-up for the outstanding Wojciech Szczesny.

But with Udinese third in Serie A and only two points behind leaders Juventus, Pozzo is understandably reluctant to sell.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stepped up his interest in Germany striker Lukas Podolski.

Gunners scouts watched the Cologne star in their defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday, which confirms the 26-year-old is firmly on Wenger's radar as he looks to strengthen his forward line.Arsenal also fancy Borussia Dortmund forward Mario Gotze, even though the German club do not want to sell the player, who has also drawn interested from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, in January.
However, they have a more pressing need for a central striker as they want top quality cover and competition for - and someone to potentially partner - Robin van Persie.

Podolski fits that bill, and would also prove Arsenal's ambition to Van Persie as they look to persuade the Dutch striker to sign a new contract.

A bid of around £20million could tempt Cologne to sell, as Podolski is out of contract in 2013.

Arsenal have had an eye on Podolski since they played Cologne in pre-season.

They have followed up their early interest with several scouting missions and believe he is capable of playing as a lone striker or in a more traditional 4-4-2.

Arsenal are competing with Tottenham for Juventus striker Amauri.

The Daily Star says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants Amauri to provide back up for Robin Van Persie.

However the striker, who was born in Brazil but plays Italy, would favour a move to White Hart Lane - who are third in the Barclays Premier League.

Manager Harry Redknapp is looking to strengthen his side in order to mount a serious title challenge next year.

The agent of Lucho Gonzalez admits he could be on the move from Olympique Marseille.

Arsene Wenger has admitted the Argentine came close to joining Arsenal in August, while Everton are eyeing him as a replacement for Mikel Arteta.

Federico Simonian said: "He wants to move to the Italian, Spanish or English leagues and will surely go to a club that deserves him and appreciates him."

Arsenal are tracking Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann.

BILD says Gladbach have slapped a €12 million price-tag on Hermann, who has been watched by Gunners chief scout Steve Rowley.

Rowley has taken notes on Hermann while watching Gladbach teammate Marco Reus.

The 20 year-old midfielder has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott, who is being watched by Barcelona.
