To win?
Yep.
But Neverkusen are still good for quarters. Dortmund would be with Barrios, as well.

Let's hope that Dortmund will get their act together against Olympiakos Pyraeus.

The odd German team could put up a good fight, but any of the usual big clubs would be favored over them. Bayern's the only one with clout.

Yup..Bundesliga fans can deny all they want but Bayern is the only competitive german team in the champions league..
When i talk about competitiveness it includes quarters and semi-final appearances as well...And please dont give me that Scahlke's fluke semi-final appearance answer..What are the chances of seeing that happening more often ?
In the last decade or so Werder and Schalke are the only two clubs apart from Bayern who have made a semi-final appearance..Schalke have made a Quarter-Final appearance as well..Other than that its all Bayern and German teams perfomances in EL that have garnered them co-efficient points and the subsequent earning of an extra cl spot..
Also Bundesliga clubs lack continuity..Some have struggled to cope with Champions league Schedule and that has reflected on their league form as well..Wolfsburg is a good example of that..It reflects on the competitiveness of Bundesliga as well no doubt but its also hard for clubs such as this to establish themselves a top 3 club..
What if a club like Dortmund fail to qualify for cl ?Their best players will be sold and they would take another 2-3 years to rebuild since their aint a strong financial investment plan and you cant always rely on youth..
There is absolutely no room for failure for clubs like these due to the extreme competition in bundesliga..
In conclusion (i might get flamed for this) is bundesliga clubs apart from Bayern are made for the Europa League rather than the high-intense best sporting competition in the world that is the Champions league..

Yes I agree with you, But You can't deny the fact that Schalke destroyed Inter it wasn't a fluke.

That's not news, though. The news is that Bundesliga clubs are catching up, not that they already caught up.

Most Bundesliga fans are ok with not being competitive in the CL because they prefer that to foreign owners.
It's called having principles.
It should be respected.

It was, is, will be. No way, German clubs apart Bayern will run massive budgets, not their style. Other leagues can be happy, otherwise we would have German invasion in football.

If TV-Money improves, it might still happen, though.
