Why i b*tched so much about adding a creating ACM that can carry the ball forward?

I argued we needed one more than Kaka, and people got worried about backing up Ozil... Truth is, looking at our current game, replacing Ozil for Kaka wouldnt help the build up in the middle of the pitch.

If we have a coach who is stubborn about drilling build up play in our players, let's at least have the players who are natural at playing that way.

It's a shame Sahin is out, but it clearly shows that we cant afford to be lacking in that area, or it turns into a mess.

I said at the start of this game Lass will have a shocker and I was right

was none of the forwards fault imo, all midfield.

Lass was terrible Alonso was playing too deep to do anything.

IMO if we subbed Lass out in the first half then we would of won, but no Jose sticks to his stubborn bs once again

Why anyone thinks Lass is good enough for this team is really beyond me. Seems all that hope at the start of the season is beginning to erode rapidly with something, that, as much I denied it, was always gonna be an issue and Nick is quite right to put on his "I told you so" hat.

What bothers me even more is that I know Mourinho sees the issues, the man isn't stupid and yet, he continues to be stubborn about this set up...

It was too late anyway, Lass should have never started that game.

I fear we are broken past mending. The problem is we dont have time to 'gel' and fix the issues, one more matchday of Barca gaining points on us and its a statistical certainty that we lose this championship again.

One might point at Khedira and Coentrao absence and Sahin's unfortunate injury as we certainly lacked a good 'link player' performance in central midfield, someone to run in between Xabi and the front 4, but fact is we dont have the luxury of winning 1 point in 2 games against shit opponents.

Horrible build up play. Lass can not even control a pass. He gave away a freekick 3 times for every time he won the ball back.

Isn't that what he always does and has done since he donned the white shirt? But it really is our fault, the guy is a one-dimensional defensive midfielder with poor passing skills and more suited to the english game, but here we are constantly trying to reinvent him as some sort of central midfielder - he is always playing in front of Xabi. I understand the logic behind this approach - since he is an aggressive player he is put up front where if we regain possession it would be more dangerous for them, and if we concede a foul it would be less dangerous for us. The problem is the guy in that area on the pitch also needs to know how to pass the effing ball around, which he can't do to save his life. He has been living on borrowed time for ages now, I don't know why.

Perfect example of a team that loses top players every summer, but still manages to play organic, wonderful football organized around a passing game.

why? they have a system, and push the team concept forward.

La Liga is so screwed up right now. Betis first, then Valencia and Malaga, Barca, Sevilla, Levante and Sociedad IIRC, then us and Atleti.

His system is based on counter attack but apparently it doesn't work at La Liga. at least not against park the bus teams.

I think we're all overeacting here, it's early season and I expect results like these, especially with the pressure the media (esp. Marca and AS) are putting on the team, Mourinho is not just a defensive coach, that's why Real Madrid scored more goals than any other club in Europe last season. I can't wait for our next round of home matches, hopefully the balance would be restored and we'll start steam rolling past teams, but I agree Mourinho made an error by starting Lass over Granero, it just stopped our build up play from the middle, the match needed creativity and Lass offered none of it. But I trust Mou to learn from his mistakes and come back stronger, as he always does.

guys we are in bad shape but its not over.

remember that there is a league and its only better for all of us to have a team in a league that is actually competitive. or seems like because of today's games.

point is that league isnt over. i can say that if we drop more points like this, its over.
