Juventus Will Fight Until The End This Year' - Former Defender Sergio Brio
Former Juventus defender Sergio Brio has indicated that the Turin-based club will mount a serious Serie A challenge this season.
Juves got off to a great start in the league with a 4-1 victory against Parma, which sees them sit at the summit of the table.
In the last two seasons, the Turin side finished seventh in Serie A, and coach Antonio Conte is under heavy pressure to take the club back to the top.
Brio, who played at Juventus from 1974 to 1990, stated he has high hopes for Conte's side, but noted that winning the league will not be an easy task.
"The competitive growth of the team will be gradual," he told Goal.com Italy. "The coach is certainly the right one, because he has all the qualities which symbolise Juventus.
"I think there are teams out there who are more complete than Juve, but we have to try.
"It will definitely not be a seventh-placed finish as last year, this time around Juventus will fight until the end."
The 54-year-old attested to Conte's qualities, saying: "In all these years at Juventus, Antonio has shown he always honours the club and that he is a true 'Juventino'.
"He is ready and determined and knows how to guide the team."
