For the very first time in Serie A, a team will be starting with 2 defenders (if this is true). And those two defenders are Burdisso and Heinze... God help us. This match, one way or another, will end in tears.

Inter playing with a 3-5-2, dominating in midfield.

Good luck with that

Mike, I don't see that true, if it is... Enrique uff... :coffee:

inter's more like 3-4-2-1 than 3-5-2 i think

sneijder will push further up from midfield but slightly off to the left like he always does, forlan to drop deep

so 3-4-"1.5"-"1.5" more or less Laughing

this was the best match for us result-wise

our performance last week though was better

no complaints from me with the result, i expected us to fall apart with simone/taddei on the flanks. they played full 90 too credit to them. we had to go more defensive after stekelenburg got murdered by lucio. no angel also means less creativity

only one team and one manager tried today out there and it was ours. muntari coming on for forlan as the last sub sums it up

fast recovery to stekelenburg. i hope he's alright

kjaer motm IMO

A point is acceptable after this match. We risked conceding right at the end. The Stekelenburg substitution created problems, as we were visibly tired late in the second half.

De Rossi was the undisputed man of the match. Controlled midfield and let no one get by. Burdisso and Kjaer played great games as well.

except for ozzy, i can't really fault any of our players out there today. everyone played well

kjaer, burdisso and, derossi really stood out and credit to our vets for playing out of position at fullback for the full 90. kjaer motm for me, but i could see de rossi getting it as well

it's a shame LE starts him as a auxiliary centerback. this is the 2nd game we really started looking menacing after gago's introduction and de rossi being pushed up further

Agreed, Osvaldo was rather disappointing. He had the chance to change the game with 5 minutes left, but made a foolish decision in trying to dribble through 3 Inter defenders instead of sending the ball to his left and making a forward run. Then, when he somehow got through, he completely missed his pass.

Aside from him though, we can't really blame anyone. Perrotta and Taddei did rather well considering it was their first game as defenders. Totti missed too many passes, but was still a threat going forward.

Scans for Stekelenburg resulted in a negative and there should be no complications, so that's a good piece of news. I still expect him to be out for quite a while though.

It was good to see us playing our game at the San Siro, we had some good spells of possesion in their half and dominated the game at times especially near the start of second half and Enriques pressing is starting to come together, our forwards and midfielders put Inter under a lot of pressure.

I agree with most of you here De Rossi man of the match for me with Kjaer and Burdisso right behind. Borini also played well.

We'll see what Enrique has to say but I believe the reason he took out Borini and left Osvaldo is because it is much more crucial for us to get Osvaldo going. If he can start scoring he can be decisive for us. I still think he would show much more if he wasnt played out wide tho.

And what was Sneijder complaining about at the end? Inter were already lucky enough with Lucio not getting red carded (either a direct red, or a second yellow for the other fouls following that incident like the one on Pizarro).

Anyways I'm already looking forward to our next match. Angel is back, while Burdisso and Kjaer seem to make a really nice pairing. That right back spot is going to be up for grabs for a while. Pjanic and De Rossi are a given, while Pizarro and Gago will contend for the other spot. Borini, Totti and Bojan/Borriello to start next match as well.

Yea Sneijders always complaining about something...

I want to see Borini Totti Bojan next match with Osvaldo coming as a sub. Im loving Burdisso-Kjaer too That Gago Pizarro battles gonna be tough to call I like what both of them bring.

I think most of you know my unpopular opinion on the right back spot...Rosi
