Canteros Watch
Since we have a large section, would be nice to keep track of what the boys are doing outside, and how well they are coming along.
We have a couple of players loaned out in Primera, so this would be a good place to discuss each performances, if any of us happens to catch some of them.
Obviously we will hear and will probably get to see more of Canales since he plays for Valencia, but really, would be nice for all to share any piece of infos they have on weekly performances.
We have:
Sarabia @ Getafe
Canales @ Valencia
Juan Carlos & Mateos @ Zaragoza
Fran Rico @ Grenada
let me know if im missing someone.
Canales
Watched both Valencia games so far, He had his better performance so far against Santander. He came in the second half, and helped the transition in the last 3rd third, game opened up for Valencia and they won it. I wouldnt say he was key, but he helped. As for his individual development, too early to judge, enjoying the form from spain NT during which he showcased his natural talent.
Against Atletico, didnt notice much, Atletico was running the second half so i didnt notice him much.
Sarabia
His debut game with Getafe was rough, came on very late, missed a lot of passes, very very nervous as expected for a debut.
Against Madrid he was having his first start. First half was very raw still, playing against the team of your heart does that to you, pressured cooked atmosphere in the Bernabeu as well, the pace, the excitement etc... brief, difficult first half. The fans however were clapping for him and cheering him up, and he stood up during the second half. He was playing with more confidence, and dare, beat ramos and pepe on a couple of occasions and showed that raw talent and unique make up he has. I can see him growing in that team, and taking on very big place in their attack. Good little player we have there, well balanced combination of WF/SS/AM.

Re: Canteros Watch
Canales against racing was dissapointing, did nothing but small distance passes, it was a uselss 45min.
It remininded me exatly how granero plays, he wasnt making through balls or dangerious passes that leads to goals. his positioning was bad too. too deep.
Against gerogia it was a much better performance. that freekick was incridible.
that thing is canales is a rithem player. we expected him to perform by giving 5min to him, it wasnt going to work that way.

Sarabia was much better in the second half against us. I can see him becoming their best player eventually.

Being very harsh there, it's a game debut, new team, new system, you cant expect him to have telephatic understanding with the team and pull out xavi like passes.
Also a matter of mentality, because with Spain u21, he is the boss and he knows he is boss, but when he plays with a big team like Valencia, he starts from the bench, so he needs to adapt. Some kids think they are bosses all the time, Canales is more shy.

Re: Canteros Watch
Canales actually played well, valencia were 1-3 down before his intro and wasnt been able to move the ball throw midfield before canales and co came in.
Re: Canteros Watch
Took my idea again?
Oh well, I was going to wait a bit, but meh.

Canales is a cantero now? Nice...
He had a decent game today. Nothing to really talk about, still hating on Soldado though...

He's a consistent goal scorer that Soldado. Shame we couldn't really use him when he was with us.

Re: Canteros Watch
Soldado is a difficult forward to build up in a top club. He is scorer that uses his instinct to find good position. Not naturally gifted with size, speed, power or technique, so he needed a lot of playing time to sharpen that instinct.

Re: Canteros Watch
Yeah but he could still have been very useful IMO. I understand why it didn't work out though.

Re: Canteros Watch
No he isnt, he is a good poacher with decent skills and that's about it.
Negredo is a more interesting forward to have for a coach, and that's why he is playing with the NT at the moment.

Re: Canteros Watch
Soldado is better than current higuain ,it is not even up for debate.Higuain has not played a single full match in this season, while soldado is leading goal scorer in la liga. Also he has no barca/real midfield to feed him.Higuain has yet to reach 100%.St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:No he isnt, he is a good poacher with decent skills and that's about it.
