I think they are too entertaining.

Watching them choke in tournaments has become pretty fun LOL

Come on, they'll get better in some aspects of their game although Argentina would probably just do the same thing they did in 2010, 2006, 2002 and 1998. And 1994 as well...

It's his first game but our midfield was shit, Lucho and Alvarez contributed nothing to attack and were too scared to move into the final third. Messi started out on the right but then came into the game when he realized he was the only one that can take the ball into the final third.

When Pastore and Kun finally get to start that is when Argentina will play better, they should be one of the first names on the starting XI.

As for defense, Demichelis and Otamendi surprisingly weren't shockingly awful, but I know that it's just a fluke and they're too inconsistent to be starting at the back for Arg. Zabaleta and Rojo could not do anything with the ball or the space they had to run into, it was awful, Ansaldi please.

As for the midfield, Lucho appeared a shadow of himself and was pretty bad overall, Ricky had some good moments but wasn't really able to crack the defense. Di Maria was wasteful as usual, Higuain couldn't do much either.

Argentina gets very little width... even when they go the wing, the automatically come back to the middle. Trying to play off of Messi way too much. Messi needs to take a step back and let the midfielders play.

What midfielders lol?

I understand why Messi drops so deep he has more creativity in his little toe than the whole of Argentina's midfield combined....

It does'nt help that stupid coaches keep selecting the wrong players.

Seriously, how Pastore is still on the bench while the likes of Alvarez and Lucho get the nod under the new coach is baffling to me. A noob and a wannabe...smh

If Argentina can't produce 2/3 good midfielders then something is fundamentally wrong.

I doubt quality is a problem. It's more deep rooted than that.

Pastore is a must for me. He would add excitement and creativity to that crap midfield.

Argentina's defence is better than thier midfield imo and iam serious Argentina's midfield is so freaking awful and beyond saving......

Atleast there is young talent plus Zabeleta, Coloccini, Garay, Ansaldi etc etc

Bar Mascherano and Pastore( who does'nt picked) it is so freaking overrated and awful.

lol, the game lacked consistensy and theres absolutely no midfield whatsoever. Linkup was meh, and the back 4 of Argentina is well not so great either. Their shaky as hell, cannot even give a decent straight pass (maybe it was the condition of the pitch idk) and alot of good chances was being wasted. Game was boring as hell

We have Banega though, he can control a game like this, he should have played. I really would like to see Banega and Pastore play together in midfield with Gago behind them and Mascherano at CB, it would probably solve the midfield problem.

Pastore is amazing. You probably haven watched him over the past two years... he was dominant in Serie A last year until he tired in the end. He is also dominant in Ligue 1 so far. Amazing talent and a natural #10. He'e better than any midfielder in EPL right now in terms of a #10.

higuain played pretty well imo.. the thing is messi was the only one creating chances .. the midfield were good, rotating the ball etc, but not really doing much.. still messi drinking from an oxyrich bottle made my day :queen:

How well Higuain does depends on how well those behind him do.

I feel bad for Higuain... the CF in Madrid is treated like a bastard child because CR7 monopolizes all the service in the middle and the same is true in the Argentina NT with Messi.

I hope he doesn't get a depression honestly.
