Owen and Xisco yes. Smith no. He was one of the few players that gave the clubs everything he had when we got relegated and was instrumental in us coming back up and for £6m you can't really complain.
Also Sunderland have had some pretty shocking ones too
Craig Gordon - Now 3rd choice keeper and dropped by Scotland and you bought him for £10m!!!!
Titus Bramble - Wigan got him on a free from us, he did very, very badly while at Wigan and then you decide to spend money on him. Admittedly is was only £1m, but it was £1m that did more harm than good.
Fraizer Campbell - Does nothing at United then has a terrible loan spell at Spurs and then you go and spend almost £4m on him. Even now he can't get Gyan at out the 1st team. 4 goals in 31 apps.
Asamoah Gyan - Bought for £15m purely based on a World Cup performance (World Cup signings are never good.) Scores 1 in 3 while Darren Bent is his partner but when Bent leaves can't hit a barn door with a banjo. Meanwhile we sign Leon Best for £3m who scores more in 1 game than your entire team has managed so far this season.

Re: Best rip-off deals ever.
Gordon is currently injured.
Campbell has beenout since beginning of 2010-11 season.
Bramble's only particuaraly bad game last season came in the game at St James's park.
Gyan needs a striker to partner him up front and Sessegnon isn't a striker.

Even when Gordon isn't injured Mingolet plays
The fact remains that Campbell has 4 in 31.
I think you're being a bit selective, i'm pretty sure he had more than one bad game otherwise you wouldn't be out signing loads of defenders.
If you spend £15m on someone who can't score goals unless somebody is up front helping him surely it was a huge waste of money because then you have to go and spend more money on another striker.

Re: Best rip-off deals ever.
I have noticed we conceded 32 in 24 games with Bramble and 30 in 17 without him.
Campbell was a substitute for Kenwyne Jones in most of the 2009-10 season. Gordon played only 3 less than Mignolet because of his injury.
Gyan cost £13m and played well last season against clubs like Stoke, Chelsea, Wigan, Blackburn and Tottenham but suffered in a injury after he scored in our 4-2 win over Wigan.

Palermo selling Amauri to Juventus(25.5m)..
Galliani selling an injury prone Kaka for 65m..
Plus the deal of the decade..Selling Ibra for 40m+ Eto'o and in turn selling Eto'o for close to 30m..

Re: Best rip-off deals ever.
46M + 20 for Ibrahimovic and then selling Eto'o for 30M more. Discount his wages of 11M per year and Inter made 74M alone from Eto'o

That's why you're in debt, some people in your club can't use a calculator for some reason

Haha what a pointless stat. If you played against 10 teams with him and then the exact 10 teams without him then MAYBE you could use it to defend him but considering that there are so many variables to take into account when it comes to conceding a goal it's a ridiculous stat.
Also in those games that Gyan supposedly played well in how many were without Darren Bent? He only scored 3 goals after Bent left. You were in the top half when you had Bent but when he left you slid down the table at a very quick rate, how many games did you win after Bent left? 4? Against Bolton, Wigan, Blackpool and West Ham hardly an impressive record.

Re: Best rip-off deals ever.
Enrique of 6mil seems like a rip off.
And the biggest bargain i would say is Vidic for 6mil.One of the bargains of the century.

Barca have had some trouble balancing their finances recently in case you didn't notice
That's what I was pointing out
They are sorting it out but on the other hand our debt isn't really of any trouble for us

RIP OFF!! Actually Ivanovic cost around the same price as Vidic, but Vidic is just a beast.

Inter f***** Barca hard with that deal.
Definitely the all time best and worst deal, depending on whether you are Inter or Barca.

That was still an incredible deal for Inter. I think Eto'o is worth 35 mill, so to get 46 mill + Et'oo is mind boggling. Great deal for inter.

Ozil to Madrid for like 15 mil.
By best rip off do you mean, the most benefit for the lest cost.
Or vice versa and less benefit for more cost?

Re: Best rip-off deals ever.
Personally I think the deal for Kaka is worse then Ibra.
They are roughly the same transfer fee are they not?
Kaka has done nothing in 2 seasons, at least Ibra scored goals (and some very important ones like vs Madrid).
