Alright, before you start reading be sure to hold your knee so there is no Knee Jerking in this thread. Thank you.

Despite his poor showing against WBA, he is a great player, my question is, if Rajkovic gets a work permit, should we let Alex go to Juve/Bayern? He is 29 so in his prime and DL4 is not far behind him. I personally would let him go for 15m min. As he is a fantastic player but if Bosingwa keeps playing well we have too many top class Cb's and I feel Alex will be forgotten again.

i have a feeling Luiz will start next week if he is fit which will mean more bench time for Alex.

Is it time for Alex to move on, or should we hold onto him for another year?

If Alex left then I think we should go for a decent RB like Inkoom because then Ivanovic can be a back up for Terry and Luiz. Rajkovic can be fourth choice, but that won't help his development at all. Also if Ivanovic becomes one of our CB's then that means our young defenders won't get a chance because they'd be in the same situation as Bruma was last season.

So I hope Alex doesn't leave, but this is what he had to say recently:

"If Juventus want me outright [i.e. not on loan] I'd be very happy; I would accept. Juventus are a great club and playing in Italy interests me."

IMO, use Rajkovic as a third CB and Ivanovic as fourth choice.

I feel alex could well leave but the club will only let him if Rajkovic can get a work permit.

I hope he joins us..He would be an upgrade in defense for us without a doubt..

Alex-Chiellini.. Shocked

Not sure how much Chelsea are holding out for..Marotta always has the habit of offering less than expected so i hope he doesnt screw up this one like he sometimes does due to a difference of a few m euros..

I think Chelsea are not holding out for money but for Rajkovic's work permit to be sorted out.

In that case its a win-win scenario..Never thought Chelsea are so keen to sell him but it looks like it..So that leaves that with room to negotiate a lesser fee perhaps which is all good..

I'm guessing it probably would be a loan deal with an option to buy and this would be a typical Marotta deal..Any idea on how much he earns at chelsea ?

How do you expect that to happen? Do you think Rajkovic is a better CB than Ivanovic?

Also if we want another player like Modric we will have to sell one of our current non homegrown players, in which Alex is included.

Are we assuming Bosingwa will take the permanant role of RB? He cost us last year against manu from memory, he lets things slip sometimes defensively so I'd probably still prefer Ivanovic at RB against good teams with Luiz and Terrry CB. I'm interested in how Inkoom would go in PL, he has a good build and looks strong defensively.

It's not that we are keen to sell, it's more that we are trying to build a future and Alex is oldish and AVB likes Rajkovic.

no, I expect Ivanovic to be our main RB against any half decent team, otherwise Bosingwa will start. thereforeRajkovic should be our 3rd CB.

Ivanovic will be our main RB, if we are going to buy a RB it won't be till next season IMO.

Sell him and frees up a slot for non home grown on the roster if we can add the Serb.

Yes, another good thing about selling him, however, it would be very sad to see him go.

So while I previously respected his time at Chelsea recently he had some, lets say, interesting things to say about gay rights and so now I have lost all respect for him. Laughing

BTW lol at how old this thread is (we're talking about Rajkovic )

Please. Kick is merely the admins' token mod who holds very little actual authority. Given the position out
